Joe Biden has a major problem on his hands.
The only solution is one that Democrats consider unthinkable.
But his back is up against the wall and Joe Biden is preparing to admit the one defeat that no one thought was possible.
When Biden took office in January, one of his first moves was to halt construction of Donald Trump’s border wall.
Democrats falsely claimed the intent behind the wall was racist, and Biden stopping construction on the wall was one of several moves Biden made to open the border to illegal aliens.
The predictable result was a surge of illegal aliens rushing the southern border.
In March, border patrol encountered 171,000 illegal aliens, the largest number of attempted illegal border crossings in 15 years.
Biden is feeling the heat as his poll numbers on immigration plummet and Democrats fear a backlash in next year’s midterm election.
That’s why Biden doing what is considered a taboo in Democrat Party politics – restarting construction on the border wall.
The Washington Times exclusively reports:
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told department employees he may restart border wall construction to plug what he called “gaps” in the current barrier.
In a conversation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees last week Mr. Mayorkas was asked about his plans for the wall and he said that while President Biden has canceled the border emergency and halted Pentagon money flowing to the wall, “that leaves room to make decisions” on finishing some “gaps in the wall.”
Mr. Mayorkas, according to notes of the ICE session reviewed by The Washington Times, said Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the wall, has submitted a plan for what it wants to see happen moving forward.
If the Biden administration resumes construction on the wall – even if they try to spin it as filling in gaps – it will be the ultimate defeat and acknowledgement that Donald Trump was correct.
