Tara Reade’s credible allegations of sexual assault continue to haunt Joe Biden’s Presidential campaign.
All hell is now breaking loose.
And Joe Biden just caused the Tara Reade scandal to go from bad to worse with this announcement.
On Wednesday, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced the Department was revising the Title IX sexual assault guidelines for colleges and universities.
The Obama administration put these rules in place in 2011 and they turned campuses into banana republic-style systems where male students accused of sexual assault were not allowed to confront their accusers or demand universities produce evidence against them.
Secretary DeVos moved to restore due process by allowing the accused to confront their accuser, allowing the accused to demand schools produce evidence against them, as well as narrowed the definition of sexual harassment.
“Too many students have lost access to their education because their school inadequately responded when a student filed a complaint of sexual harassment or sexual assault,” DeVos said in a statement. “This new regulation requires schools to act in meaningful ways to support survivors of sexual misconduct, without sacrificing important safeguards to ensure a fair and transparent process. We can and must continue to fight sexual misconduct in our nation’s schools, and this rule makes certain that fight continues.”
Joe Biden immediately came out with a statement promising to undo these due process protections.
“It’s wrong,” Biden ranted. “And, it will be put to a quick end in January 2021, because as president, I’ll be right where I always have been throughout my career — on the side of survivors, who deserve to have their voices heard, their claims taken seriously and investigated, and their rights upheld.”
But in Biden’s haste to appeal to young voters and single women he stepped in it big time.
Under the standards for sexual assault Biden supports for colleges and universities, Biden would be found guilty of Tara Reade’s allegations.
