Joe Biden is pushing one of the most radical agendas in American history.

Now Biden wants another illegal power grab.

Joe Biden just made this demand that will leave your jaw on the ground.

Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act is up for renewal this year.

Passed in 2008, Section 702 codified the illegal warrantless wiretapping program targeting American citizens that President George W. Bush instituted following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Normally, the government must first obtain a warrant to spy on an American citizen.

But Section 702 allows the government to spy on phone calls and emails of American citizens communicating with an individual abroad without having a judge sign off on the spying.

In a letter to leaders in Congress, Joe Biden demanded Congress reauthorize Section 702 of the FISA Act when it comes for reauthorization later this year.

The New York Times reports:

The Biden administration urged Congress on Tuesday to renew a controversial warrantless surveillance law, emphasizing that security officials use it for a broad range of foreign policy and national security goals like detecting espionage by countries like China and Iran or stopping hackers . . .

. . . To head off the resistance, the Biden administration has sought to cast the law, which would otherwise expire at the end of the year, as a tool that is used not only for counterterrorism but has also aided the government in identifying economic risks and preventing foreign actors from creating weapons of mass destruction.

Biden officials used the typical scare tactics about how Section 702 was necessary to fight terrorism.

“Its value cannot be overstated,” Justice Department National Security Division chief Matthew Olsen wrote. “Without 702, we will lose indispensable intelligence for our decision makers and warfighters, as well as those of our allies. And we have no fallback authority that could come close to making up for that loss.”

But the Deep State uses FISA to target conservatives.

In 2016 and 2017 the FBI obtained a FISA warrant to spy on former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor Carter Page.

The FBI used the hoax Steele dossier as the basis for the warrant and the Department of Justice Inspector General reported 17 errors and omissions in the process of getting a judge to approve the warrant.

Now that it’s known that the government abuses FISA to target the Democrat Party’s political opponents, conservatives are hoping Republicans in Congress will let this unconstitutional warrantless wiretap program expire.
