Few believe Joe Biden will run for re-election in 2024.
That would create a wide-open Democrat Party Presidential Primary.
And Joe Biden just tipped his hand about which Democrat will replace Kamala Harris in 2024.
Joe Biden’s poll numbers continue to sink with no end in sight.
Polls also show Republicans holding the largest lead in the Congressional generic ballot in history.
The economy is in tatters as inflation soars to levels not seen in decades.
All of those political calamities have pundits doubting Joe Biden will run for re-election in 2024, where should he win, Biden will serve as President until he is 86.
But if Biden steps aside, it is doubtful that Kamala Harris will automatically win the Democrat Party presidential nomination.
A jaw-dropping report in CNN where White House officials leaked dirt about all of Harris’ shortcomings and failures made it clear that Biden’s handlers showed their hand about which Democrat they prefer to see succeed Biden.
Polls show Kamala Harris is the least popular Vice President in the last 50 years.
Harris also failed miserably in her role of border czar to bring the illegal immigration crisis under control.
CNN reported that Harris is so historically weak that Democrats openly debate who will run against her in the 2024 presidential primary.
“She’s perceived to be in such a weak position that top Democrats in and outside of Washington have begun to speculate privately, asking each other why the White House has allowed her to become so hobbled in the public consciousness, at least as they see it,” CNN reported.
Harris’ team believes Biden and his handlers have their favorite candidate in Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
In the CNN article, members of Harris’ inner circle complained that the entire administration leapt to the defense of Buttigieg when he disappeared for two months on paternal leave when Buttigieg and his husband adopted two children.
Harris and her team noted the administration never offered Harris that level of public support after her myriad of missteps and negative headlines.
Predictably, a former Harris aide blamed it on racism.
“It’s hard to miss the specific energy that the White House brings to defend a White man, knowing that Kamala Harris has spent almost a year taking a lot of the hits that the West Wing didn’t want to take themselves,” the former Harris aide told CNN.
A sitting Vice President facing a serious primary challenge would be largely unheard of.
But Kamala Harris so badly botched her time in office that Democrats are worried she cannot defeat Donald Trump in 2024 so the Party may hold an open call for a new candidate.
