Some Democrats are getting cold feet about having Joe Biden run for re-election.

But a leading Democrat shocked everyone by tipping his hand about the 2024 election.

And Joe Biden was furious after this Democrat went on TV and gave him this brutal rejection.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is one of the most moderate members of the increasingly left-wing Democrat Party.

The West Virginia Senator can be a thorn in the side of his party after he balked at supporting some of the most radical changes pushed by Congressional Democrats like eliminating the Senate filibuster.

During an appearance on CBC’s Face the Nation, Manchin gave a surprising response when he was asked about endorsing Biden for his expected re-election campaign.

“Are you going to endorse Joe Biden if he runs for re-election?” host Margaret Brennan asked.

“There’s plenty of time for the election. This is the problem with America right now. We start an election every time there’s a cycle coming up,” Manchin replied. “The bottom line is, let’s see who’s involved. Let’s wait until we see who all the players are. Let’s just wait until it all comes out.”

Manchin refused to endorse the sitting Democrat President in a direct slap in the face to Joe Biden.

Normally, a Senator’s endorsement of his Party’s President for re-election is virtually a slam dunk.

While the Democrat establishment is lining up behind another Presidential run from Biden, Manchin is sitting on the sidelines.

His comments raised questions about his own political future and who else could be entering the Democrat Presidential Primary.

Currently, only spiritual guru and best-selling author Marianne Williamson is the only declared candidate in the Democrat Primary against Biden.

Manchin’s statement about waiting to see what the Democrat Presidential field looks like could be a clue about his own 2024 plans.

He’s toyed with the idea of launching his own longshot primary challenge against Biden instead of running for re-election to the Senate in 2024.

Manchin has been noncommittal about his 2024 plans but host Margaret Brennan pressed him about reports he is “not running for President.”

“I didn’t say anything about that. The bottom line is I will make my political decision in December, whatever it may be,” Manchin fired back. “I’m not taking anything off the table and I’m not putting anything on the table.”

Manchin’s decision about whether he’ll run for office and which one is one of the biggest wildcards hanging over the 2024 election.

Democrats are clinging to a narrow 51-49 Senate majority heading into 2024.

In increasingly Republican West Virginia, Manchin is widely considered the only candidate who has a prayer of keeping the state’s Senate seat in the Democrat column.

West Virginia handed former President Donald Trump a punishing victory of nearly 40 points in the 2020 election.

With an unfavorable set of Senate seats up for Democrats up in 2024, Manchin’s decision about his political future could go a long way towards deciding which party controls the Senate.
