John McCain is one of the leading globalists in American politics.
He gave an interview defending elite institutions from Donald Trump’s attacks.
And in doing so he let it slip who one of the major players in the new world order actually is.
Donald Trump is engaged in a knock-down fight with the press.
He recently tweeted that the fake news media – and not the whole media – was the “enemy of the American people.”

John McCain responded in an interview on Meet the Press where he defended the media as an integral part of the new world order.
McCain: "A fundamental part of that new world order was a free press. I hate the press. I hate you especially. But the fact is we need you." https://t.co/f6sCmJBr0S

Trump’s populist movement is viewed as a threat to the international order that has been maintained by the West since the 1940s.
However, many working class Americans believe this world order has left them behind.
Their communities were gutted by global trade deals that hollowed out industries by sending jobs overseas.
Many Americans saw how open borders and mass migration diluted our culture and depressed wage.
Trump supporters also suffered from fatigue of America spending 15 years at war.
Global elites enriched themselves and directed policy to advance their agenda.
But the liberal world order has not served all Americans.
These voters supported Trump to reject the international order that John McCain defended.
In this fight, the press – much more so than the Democrats – has emerged as the opposition.
They view themselves as the gatekeeper for the international order.
Trump wants to tear it down.
Prior to Trump, the media got away with pretending to be objective while slanting the news to fit their agenda.
But Trump has forced everyone to pick a side.
And John McCain revealed which side of the line the press stands on.
