Kamala Harris continues to cause problems for Democrats.
Many on the Left wish Joe Biden could find a way to drop her from the ticket.
And now Kamala Harris refused to answer this question that left one close ally scratching their heads.
Democrats know they have to do an image rehab for Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 election.
CNN reported that Democrats understand that Harris holds low approval ratings, but that Joe Biden is going to keep her on the ticket so the party needs to circle the wagons around her.
Part of the Democrats’ rescue operation involved trying to humanize Harris.
Late Show host Stephen Colbert conducts a nightly therapy session for neurotic liberals on what used to be a late night comedy talk show.
It seemed like the perfect venue to try and show Democrats that Harris was a relatable, normal person.
Colbert tried to set up Harris with softball questions comparing her role as Vice President to the Julie Louis Dreyfuss’ HBO comedy Veep, which centered on the absurdities of Washington as seen through the eyes of the bumbling but good-hearted Vice President played by Louise Dreyfuss.
“One of the themes of the show is that her character, Selina Meyer, is frustrated by the sometimes vague duties of the role. It’s a high Constitutional office but does not describe what you’re supposed to be doing. Does that ring true? Like, what’s the actual role on a daily basis as you have found it?” Colbert asked Harris.
Harris could not answer a simple question about her role as Vice President instead pivoting to praising Joe Biden.
Colbert noted that Biden previously served as Vice President and tried to get Harris to talk about her supposed accomplishments in office.
Harris would only talk about Biden and for a second time refused to talk about her role as Vice President.
“He does, he does,” Harris answered. “He really is a true partner and he understands that job. And remember, we came in during the height of the pandemic. And so much of the work was about okay, we’ve got to cover a lot of bases and let’s figure out between us how we can do it. But he’s an extraordinary leader and I wish people could see what I see because there’s only one person who sits behind that Resolute Desk. And the decisions that person has to make are the decisions that nobody else in the country can make. And he’s an extraordinary leader. He really is.”
Even Colbert could not believe what Harris was saying and tried to save the segment with a joke.
“That’s an excellent answer and, uh, the question was what’s the job of the Vice President,” Colbert responded. “And your answer is part of the job, I’m guessing.”
Kamala Harris does not want to talk about her duties as Vice President because it is one giant failure.
Harris’ biggest job came when Joe Biden tapped her to serve as border czar in 2021.
Since Biden handed Harris the task of stemming the flow of border crossings millions of illegal aliens invaded the country.
Polls show immigration is one of Joe Biden’s biggest vulnerabilities and Harris has done nothing to shore up this weakness.
Last year, Joe Biden sent Harris to Europe to try and warn Vladimir Putin off invading Ukraine.
Putin launched his invasion days later.
Ever since, the administration has tried to keep Harris out of sight and out of mind.
It’s no wonder Harris can’t talk about her duties because she failed at the tasks handed to her, so the administration tried to give her as few responsibilities as possible.
