The border crisis unleashed by the President is back in the spotlight after the kidnapping and murder of American citizens by a Mexican drug cartel in Matamoros, Mexico.
The cartels are taking advantage of the wide-open southern border created by Biden with their massive drug and human smuggling operations.
The tragedy in Mexico is another troubling sign that the cartels are becoming increasingly emboldened under Biden.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy put White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the spot about the growing threat from the cartels.
“Cartels kill Americans on this side of the border with drugs, and now they’re killing Americans on the other side of the border with guns. Why is President Biden so comfortable with cartels operating so close to the U.S.?” Doocy asked.
Fentanyl deaths are skyrocketing under Biden after the cartels flooded the country with the deadly drug.
Jean-Pierre can’t spin Biden’s failure on the border so she told one of the biggest whoppers of her brief career.
“Because of the work that this President has done, because of what we’ve done specifically on fentanyl at the border, it’s at historic lows, historic levels that we have been able to record a number of personnel working to secure the border because of what we’ve been able to do,” Jean-Pierre replied. “We’ve done it in a historic way, that’s because of what this President has done.”
The Press Secretary’s response is a flat-out lie that’s contradicted by officials in the Biden regime.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Anne Milgram admitted that the cartels are “killing Americans with fentanyl at catastrophic and record rates like we’ve never seen before.”
Drug overdose deaths, primarily from fentanyl, crossed the grim 100,000 threshold for the first time in a year under Biden.
Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans 18-49.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data reveals that the CBP seized an agency record of 14,700 pounds of fentanyl in the last fiscal year.
The CBP is on track to break that record by the end of March this year.
Fentanyl seizures by the DEA doubled from 2021 to 2022 and the amount confiscated was enough to kill everyone in the country.
DEA officials admit that even more of the deadly drug is smuggled into the country undetected.
For Jean-Pierre to try and claim that the President is succeeding on stopping the flow of fentanyl is an insult to the hundreds of thousands of families whose lives have been shattered by the drug crisis.
