White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is in the hot seat.
She was forced to confront one embarrassing reality.
And Karine Jean-Pierre was asked one question about Joe Biden that left her in shambles.
President Joe Biden is on the verge of launching his reelection campaign for the 2024 Presidential election.
After a rocky start to his Presidency, Democrats appeared to be ready to pull the plug on him.
But an unexpectedly good showing for Democrats in last year’s Midterm elections put the wind at his back.
The Democrat Party establishment rallied around Biden and the speculation about who could replace him died down in the media.
Despite his political headwinds, the base of the Democrat Party is once again getting frustrated with Joe Biden.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was put on the spot by a reporter about a new poll showing that a majority of Democrats do not want Biden to run for a second term.
The reporter cited a poll from NBC, which found that 54% of Americans do not think that Biden has the mental or physical ability to be President.
The poll also found that 48% do not trust him and 49% do not believe he could handle a crisis.
Another poll from Washington Post/ABC News found that 58% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents want someone other than Biden to be the Party’s nominee.
“Given that poll — which, you know, is not just a single poll, versions of that have been repeated in poll after poll, survey after survey, since the Midterm elections and before,” the reporter began. “So, given all of that, why are you so convinced that it was President Biden that caused the Democratic success in the Midterms and not that the Democrats had success in spite of the President?”
Jean-Pierre completely ignored Biden’s disastrous poll numbers that the reporter mentioned.
“Because if you look at what candidates, Senators and Congressional members ran on, it was the successes that the President had,” Jean-Pierre said.
Democrat candidates in the Midterm elections avoided campaigning with Biden and did their best to distance themselves from his regime and his policies.
Some Democrat candidates even laughably claimed that they were tough on the border to give themselves breathing room from Biden.
“It was because of the Inflation Reduction Act, if you hear the message that was coming out of Democrats during the Midterms, it was what we were able to deliver,” Jean-Pierre continued. “So, yes, that’s what they used.”
The reporter followed up by asking if there was a problem with Biden’s messaging not getting through to the public based on the polls.
“We understand, and it is true that the American people are feeling inflation … and so we understand that they’re going to have some feelings about the economy right now,” Jean-Pierre replied.
Joe Biden’s sinking poll numbers and classified documents scandal could give the Party an opening to find a new candidate for 2024.
