Fox News was pressured to fire Bill O’Reilly after left-wing activists targeted advertisers.
But now that liberal activists have tasted blood over at Fox, it appears they only want more.
New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters suggested that Sean Hannity could be the next target.
The Washington Examiner highlighted his comments from a recent MSNBC appearance:
“I think you have to look at somebody like Sean Hannity,” Peters said, “and question whether or not his almost propaganda-like attitude and programming every night is going to be acceptable in the minds of the family which is clearly trying to shift the network in another direction.”
The Washington Examiner then opined:
“Hannity is widely viewed as President Trump’s biggest champion in TV news, and rarely has anything critical to say about the White House. He is also now the longest running host in Fox’s prime-time lineup now that O’Reilly was ousted this week.
….
“The fallout and reorganizing of Fox is reportedly being led by Lachlan and James Murdoch, who are said to be attempting a repositioning of the highest-rated cable news channel, well known for its conservative bent.”
If it’s true Rupert Murdoch’s two liberal sons are trying to “reposition” Fox News, things could get ugly.
Mark Levin, who is certainly no fan of O’Reilly, said this week:
“The left works as a cabal. They target people and they try to take them out.”
So the question is, now that the left succeeded in strong-arming Fox News into firing O’Reilly, will O’Reilly be the last one to go?
Or, is this just foreshadowing of things to come?
If Fox News is “repositioned” will it become indistinguishable from the rest of the mainstream media?
Let us know what you think is going on over at Fox News in the comments.
