Meghan Markle learned one piece of surprising news that will change everything

Controversial Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was in the middle of her latest controversy.

But the result wasn’t what anyone was expecting.

And Meghan Markle learned one piece of surprising news that will change everything.

Meghan and Harry’s charity no longer listed as delinquent

Markle and Harry did what so many celebrities do: they started a 501c(3) charity that allows the corporation to earn an exemption from federal, state, and local taxes.

But Harry and Meghan’s charity – the Archewell Foundation – hit a bit of a snag.

The state of California listed Archewell as delinquent for failure to pay the requisite fees.

However, according to TMZ, Archewell got removed from the delinquent list just as quickly as they appeared.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell foundation has officially been changed from delinquent to ‘current’ on the State of California’s charities page – a 180 that seems to have happened overnight . . . which, as we’ve learned, is the result of mistake on the state’s part,” TMZ reported.

TMZ also reported that the source of the dispute was a $200 payment Archewell made way back in November 2023.

“As it turns out . . . Harry and Meghan’s org was never actually delinquent – as sources with direct knowledge tell us the payments that were owed in association with renewal fees had, in fact, been paid way back in November . . . amounting to $200,” TMZ also reports.

The State of the California’s Attorney General’s office confirmed to TMZ that the Archewell Foundation was off the bad list.

“After being in touch with our Registry of Charities and Fundraisers, the organization is current and in good standing,” the statement read.

The Archewell Foundation released their own statement strongly implying that the mix-up wasn’t on their end.

“Due payments were made promptly and in accordance with the IRS’s processes and procedures. Furthermore, all necessary paperwork had been filed by the Foundation without error or wrongdoing,” the Archewell Foundation’s statement explained.

What is the Archewell Foundation

Most charities have clearly defined mission statements, such as feeding the hungry or clothing the needy.

But not the Archewell Foundation.

Their “about page” features a bunch of buzzwords that woke activists like to throw around, but don’t tell anyone what this charity actually does.

“Our mission is simple: show up, do good. We meet the moment by showing up, taking action and using our unparalleled spotlight to uplift and unite communities — local and global — through acts of service and compassion,” the about page states.

“We believe that philanthropy is not a handout; it’s a hand held. At The Archewell Foundation, we roll up our sleeves and do just that. We consciously partner with key organizations and leaders to identify immediate needs, build meaningful initiatives, and drive long-term change. We are committed to uncovering and resolving the root causes of issues, prioritizing lasting solutions over temporary fixes,” the about page continued.

No one can quite make sense of whatever that means.

But whatever it is the Archewell Foundation does, it can go about their business while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry try to repair their reputations as globetrotting do gooders.
