Tucker Carlson said Democrats and the media were lying to the American people about what happened on January 6.

Former Vice President Mike Pence was not happy about it.

And Pence blew up over Tucker Carlson saying one word about January 6.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy granted Tucker Carlson and his producers exclusive access to 41,000 hours of security camera footage from January.

Carlson reported that the security video painted a more complicated picture than the one Democrats and the media presented to the public.

Speaking over a video showing Trump supporters wandering around the Capitol, Carlson claimed the people who entered the building were more like “sightseers” than violent insurrectionists hell-bent on overthrowing the U.S. government.

Former Vice President Pence fired back at the conclusion of his speech at the annual Gridiron Dinner, a staple of the Washington, D.C. Swamp where the media throws a giant party to congratulate itself for its own importance.

Pence blasted Carlson for allegedly trying to whitewash what happened at the Capitol that day.

“Tourists don’t injure 140 police officers by sightseeing. Tourists don’t break down doors to get to the Speaker of the House. Or voice threats against public officials. The American people have a right to know what took place at the Capitol on January 6. I expect members of Fourth Estate to continue to do their job,” Pence declared. “Make no mistake about it —what happened that day was a disgrace and it mocks decency to portray it in any other way.”

Pence then attacked Donald Trump over Trump claiming that Pence could overturn certified election results from the Electoral College claiming that Trump would end up as one of history’s villains.

”I was not afraid but I was angry. President Trump was wrong,” Pence added. “I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day.”

“I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable,” Pence continued.

Finally, Pence lavished praise on the media for amplifying the January 6 Committee’s narrative about that day.

“We were able to stay at our post, in part, because you stayed at your post. The American people know what happened that day because you never stopped reporting,” Pence concluded. “For what you do to preserve and strengthen this great democracy, you have my heartfelt thanks and I know the thanks of a grateful nation. Thanks for what you do to preserve freedom.”
