Polls show the presidential race in the battleground states tightening.
Donald Trump is well within striking distance of winning the Electoral College.
And now Mike Pence dropped some bad news on Joe Biden that Democrats feared the most.
Democrats want to make the 2020 election a referendum on President Trump.
President Trump is betting his re-election on Operation Warp Speed, which is working on developing a safe and effective vaccine in record time.
The President stated the goal is to have a vaccine by the end of the year.
In recent days, both Kamala Harris and Joe Biden cast doubt on the vaccine claiming they would not trust Donald Trump.
But the President has nothing to do with vaccine approval and Vice President Mike Pence told Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum that the administration was about a month away from announcing it had developed a safe and effective vaccine that passed clinical trials.
“[W]e think we may well be within a month or so of having the first safe and effective coronavirus vaccine in America and for the wider world. […] [W]e’re manufacturing these vaccines as we speak. So, the very moment that one of those companies that are already in phase three clinical trials says that it’s safe, they submit it to the FDA, as soon as the FDA says it’s safe and effective, we will have tens of millions of doses available for the American people,” Pence stated.
Pence said the goal was to have 100 million doses – which would be enough to vaccinate 50 million Americans – by the end of the year.
“We’re on track to have one or more safe and effective coronavirus vaccines before the end of the year. We expect to have, if that’s the case, 100 million doses before December 31, and then hundreds of millions of doses as we go into 2021,” Pence added.
This vaccine is the centerpiece of the President’s strategy to combat the coronavirus.
If the President delivers on a vaccine this fall, he can credibly claim his strategy was a success.
And that would throw the Democrat campaign into chaos.
