Establishment Republicans have waited for years to throw Donald Trump overboard.
These RINOs think they finally found their chance.
And Mitch McConnell just stabbed Donald Trump in the back in the worst way possible.
After the Electoral College cast its votes for Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell congratulated Biden on his win and deemed him the President-elect.
In a conference call with Senate Republicans, McConnell implored his caucus to reject a push by House conservatives to challenge the results of the Electoral College on the House floor.
“McConnell warned that any GOP senator who signed onto a House Republican objection to a state’s electoral votes would then force the Senate to debate and vote on the objection, putting fellow GOP senators in a bad position,” The Hill exclusively reported.
Many conservatives saw RINO Senator Shelly Moore Capito of West Virginia’s comments on the call as a signal the main take away was that Republicans should surrender to Joe Biden and help his administration pass amnesty, gun control, and tax increases.
“I think that there was encouragement on the phone for us to accept the result, as much as it’s not what we, you know, would have envisioned for the next four years, and to try to do what’s best for American people, which is to look forward,” Senator Capito claimed.
Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks intends to mount on a challenge to the Electoral College results but needs a Senator to sign on.
Brooks noted this was not unprecedented as in 2004, California Senator Barbara Boxer challenged the results from Ohio.
“Well, it’s happened many times in the past,” Brooks told Fox Business Channel host Lou Dobbs.
“Apparently, some folks have not done their history.”
It’s clear Senate Republicans want to move on from Donald Trump so they can go back to the George Bush/John McCain/Mitt Romney style of Republicanism that surrenders to the Democrats on every major fight.
