Nancy Pelosi got a rude awakening about her future that no one saw coming

Nancy Pelosi believes she will be Speaker of the House in January.

But she may be in for a rude awakening.

That’s because one scene in her office may have just been the final nail in her coffin.

Democrats are riding high after the midterm election.

Nancy Pelosi is figured to lord over the House as Speaker.

But a new generation of Democrats won their elections based on opposing Pelosi’s leadership.

One of the new Democrats – Socialist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez – led a protest in Pelosi’s office demanding the House pass so-called “climate change” legislation.

This was an unheard of sign of disrespect.

Politico reports:

More than 200 youth activists, flanked by Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, flooded House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office this morning urging Democrats to act more decisively on climate change.

Capitol Police began arresting protesters when they refused to disperse after a few hours outside Pelosi’s office in the Cannon House Office Building. Organizers said about 50 protesters were arrested. Pelosi said she welcomed the protest and called on the police “to allow them to continue to organize and participate in our democracy.”

Ocasio-Cortez, who left before the arrests began, said she was there to support the protesters and encourage Pelosi to listen to them. Ocasio-Cortez has not made clear yet whether she’ll back Pelosi for speaker when Democrats hold leadership elections later this month, though noted today she’s “looking forward to us working together.”

“We need a Green New Deal and we need to get to 100 percent renewables because our lives depend on it,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters. “The IPCC themselves, they say we have 10 years left and I — not just as an elected member, but as a 29-year-old woman — am thinking not just about what we are going to accomplish in the next two years but the America that we’re going to live in in the next 30 years.”

Things got worse for Pelosi after the meeting.

Ocasio-Cortez refused to commit to voting for Pelosi for speaker.

To win the Speaker’s gavel, a candidate must gain 218 votes on the floor of the House.

Every Republican will vote against Pelosi.

Democrats picked up at least 31 seats in the House.

That number could grow to almost 40.

That means fewer than 20 Democrat “no” votes will sink her candidacy.

Pelosi is dealing with a new breed of Democrats who are radical leftists and want to turn America into Venezuela.

The climate change protest shows that unless Pelosi promises to appease these radicals her days could be numbered.
