Nancy Pelosi is on the defensive.
Once again Democrats are attacking the police.
And Nancy Pelosi had one stunning response to calls to eliminate the police.
Democrats paid a steep price in the 2020 election for supporting defunding the police as Republicans gained 15 seats in the House of Representatives.
Now, in the wake of Black Lives Matter riots after Daunte Wright’s death during a traffic stop, Democrats are making even more extreme calls to eliminate the police and stop jailing criminals.
Fox News reached out to Speaker Nancy Pelosi for comment about Democrats’ demands that the government eliminate the police.
Pelosi ducked the question and instead highlighted Democrats’ support for legislation that would cripple the ability of police to do their job.
“As I painfully watched the trial of Derek Chauvin during Holy Week, I was grateful that the House had already passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act,” Pelosi statement’s read. “This is all the more sad with the tragic killing of Daunte Wright this week. Our legislation provides a solution to systemic racism and does not paint all law enforcement with the same brush.”
Fox asked Pelosi for comment after Michigan Congresswoman and “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib fired off a tweet claiming the Daunte Wright shooting was the last straw, and that police could not be reformed.
Instead, Tlaib supported eliminating the police and dismantling the prison system.
“It wasn’t an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed,” Tlaib posted on social media.
Democrats have no margin for error next year when they try to hang on to their majorities in Congress.
Pelosi is terrified that Tlaib’s call to eliminate the police could stick to Democrats running nationwide and cost the party control of the House of Representatives.
