Nancy Pelosi is known to run the House of Representatives like a dictator.
But Pelosi’s facing the biggest challenge of her career.
And Nancy Pelosi just heard the one word she never expected anyone to say to her.
Speaker Pelosi wants to ram a $1.2 trillion-dollar fake infrastructure bill and a $3.5 trillion-dollar socialist spending bill through Congress.
The $1.2 trillion-dollar bill represents a down payment on the Green New Deal and serves as political cover for Democrats to support the $3.5 trillion-dollar bill that Bernie Sanders is in the process of writing.
Americans witnessed a disaster unfold over the weekend with Joe Biden’s utter incompetence as Commander in Chief but with Biden’s approval ratings already cratering amid fears of inflation, nervous Democrats in swing districts want an immediate vote on the $1.2 trillion-dollar bill.
Socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared if that happened then her allies would vote against the so-called “infrastructure” bill believing that if the bills are delinked then swing district Democrats will vote against the Bernie Sanders budget.
Pelosi tried to appease all factions by floating the proposal of passing a rule advancing both bills at the same time.
Nine moderate Democrats from swing districts rejected that offer and demanded a vote on the $1.2 trillion-dollar bill immediately.
NBC News reports:
On Sunday, Pelosi suggested a way out in a letter to colleagues: The Rules Committee could set up a process to “advance” both measures at the same time. Her deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill, said her position has not changed: The House won’t vote on final passage of the infrastructure bill until the Senate passes the other spending bill, a process that could still take weeks.
But the nine moderates appeared to reject that approach, saying in a joint statement Sunday evening that they appreciated her offer but their “view remains consistent” on passing infrastructure first.
The group of Democrats is led by Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., and includes politically vulnerable lawmakers like Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux, D-Ga., and Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine.
Pelosi’s problem is both sides have the votes to tank the bill they don’t like and also have yet to show they will back down.
Joe Biden’s entire Presidency is on the rocks because of the debacle in Afghanistan.
If Biden thought he could right the ship with a domestic win, Nancy Pelosi may not be able to deliver.
