There was one major problem with Chelsea Clinton’s latest attack

Chelsea Clinton is trying to establish her political persona.

Many speculate her stepped up social media presence is the first step in a future run for office.

She’s lobbed attack after attack at Republicans, but her latest salvo at Dr. Ben Carson had one major problem.

Dr. Carson was addressing Housing and Urban Development employees when he allegedly compared slaves who were forcibly brought over to America to immigrants.

The Federalist reported:

This week, liberals savagely mocked Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson for allegedly comparing slaves to immigrants. It looks like they’ve completely forgotten about all the times Barack Obama did the exact same thing.

While speaking to a group of employees at his department on Monday, Carson said: “There were other immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships, who worked even longer, even harder, for less, but they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.”

The left-wing outrage mob quickly materialized and Chelsea Clinton was at the front of the pack.

She tweeted:

But there was just one big problem.

On 11 different occasions Barack Obama made a similar comparison.

And there was no liberal uproar.

The comments passed quietly into the night.

One example was at a 2012 naturalization ceremony.

The Federalist also reports:

“In a speech at a naturalization ceremony in 2012, then-President Obama said this about slave ships:

We say it so often, we sometimes forget what it means — we are a nation of immigrants. Unless you are one of the first Americans, a Native American, we are all descended from folks who came from someplace else — whether they arrived on the Mayflower or on a slave ship, whether they came through Ellis Island or crossed the Rio Grande.”

Chelsea Clinton used Dr. Carson’s remarks as an opportunity to burnish her brand as a Republican-hating social justice warrior who is just outraged about everything in the age of Trump.

But the truth is this was just a way for her to score cheap political points to claim something Dr. Carson said was unprecedented when it was similar to something Barack Obama had previously stated.

  1. If Chelsea is as smart as she thinks she is, then she would abandon politics and concentrate on raising her family. Following in her mothers footsteps will give her nothing except disappointment and frustration.

  2. Obama was the reason Chelsea’s mother didn’t get the 2008 Democrat nomination. So she’s expected to avoid stepping on his toes about referring to slaves as immigrants? To say that the Clintons do not like Obama understates the case to the point of absurdity.

  3. Of course the plan was to elect Hillary first and then eight years afterward Chelsea would supposedly be ready, of course it failed largely due to Hillary’s lack of appeal and/or any sort of concern for the general public. Nest feathering and now we are going to have YEARS of Chelsea as that is still their only plan, don’t be taken in.
