One Senator just accused Amy Coney Barrett of committing this huge crime

Supreme Court Justices who support overturning Roe v. Wade are in the Left’s crosshairs.

There is not any line Democrats won’t cross in order to defend abortion on demand.

And now one Senator just accused Amy Coney Barrett of committing this huge crime.

The leak of a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito overturning Roe v. Wade sparked fury on the Left.

Leftists zeroed in on the confirmation hearing testimony of Donald Trump’s three Supreme Court nominees – Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett – as the next pressure point in trying to force them to change their votes and maintain Roe v. Wade as the law of the land.

The basis of this false claim rests on the phony narrative that Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh lied to the Senate when they said they believed Roe v. Wade was “settled law.”

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand picked up on this thread in an interview on CNN with host Jake Tapper.

Gillibrand ranted that Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh misled pro-abortion Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, who supported some or all of their nominations.

“Four Justices in the last hearings I’ve witnessed have said that precedent matters and that precedent is the foundation of our legal system. And so if they just feel they can just up-end this precedent because they don’t like it today, well, that’s inconsistent with what they promised the judges – excuse me, what they promised the Senators who voted for them. If you look at the statements of both Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, they truly believe their statements were inconsistent with what they told them,” Gillibrand began.

That led to Tapper asking Gillibrand if she thought the three Trump nominees lied to Congress in their testimony.

Gillibrand took a different tact, hinting that she believed Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch committed fraud and should be investigated.

“You know, I come at this issue from the perspective of a lawyer who worked in fraud all the time. Corporate fraud. If a corporation put these kinds of statements in their quarterly filings, they would be seen to be purposefully misleading and would be deemed fraud. So, I think all their statements should be looked at very, very carefully,” Gillibrand answered.

Gillibrand also claimed the three misled the Senate about their intentions of maintaining Roe v. Wade.

“I think they misled the Senate with the intention of getting their confirmation vote with the intention of overruling Roe. And so, I’m very concerned these Justices have crossed a line that no one believed would be crossed. That they would purposefully create the impression that they would not overrule settled precedent and that it was not only deserving of due weight and the importance of precedent but reaffirmed it deserves more weight and then go ahead and overturn it, especially with the reasoning that Justice Alito makes in his draft opinion,” Gillibrand concluded.

None of this is true.

Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch only said Roe was “settled law.”

They never stated their belief it was correctly settled law, nor did they promise to vote to maintain Roe.

But Roe is central to the Left’s ideology.

So leftists are grasping at straws in the hopes of defending access to abortion-on-demand.
