One U.S. Senator just reignited rumors about this Supreme Court Justice

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is known as the court’s swing vote.

Appointed by President Reagan in the 1980s, he’s unfortunately disappointed conservatives time and time again.

But what Senator Mike Lee just said about Justice Kennedy has conservatives jumping for joy!

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) appeared on Fox News Radio when he dropped a bombshell about Justice Kennedy.

The Washington Times reports:

“A lot of chatter suggesting that Justice Kennedy might be preparing for retirement as soon as this year,” Mr. Lee said Tuesday on Fox News Radio’s “Benson & Harf.” “Sometime between now and the end of June or first day or two of July would be when we would expect an announcement from Justice Kennedy if he were going to do it. What I am hearing is that he is at least considering it and it’s a very real possibility.”

Justice Kennedy is getting up in years and will turn 82 this July.

If Justice Kennedy retires this summer, President Trump could land a second nominee on the U.S. Supreme Court.

It’s difficult to understate how important such a situation could be for conservatives.

Justice Kennedy has long stood in the way of efforts to overturn Roe vs. Wade and sided with the high court’s liberals on a wide range of other issues.

With a possible announcement just weeks away, you can expect the rumor mill to get fired up even hotter in the coming weeks.
