Now he’s giving his replacement some advice about filling his shoes.

And Pat Sajak revealed one fact about Wheel of Fortune that left Ryan Seacrest stunned.

A changing of the guard at Wheel of Fortune after more than 40 years

Pat Sajak wrapped up his time as the host of Wheel of Fortune with an emotional final show.

He became a TV icon on his way to becoming the longest-serving game show host in history.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest was quickly tapped to replace Sajak last year after he announced his retirement.

Seacrest has some big shoes to fill as the host of Wheel of Fortune.

Sajak had some advice for his replacement in a promo video for the upcoming season of the game show, which is set to debut this fall.

“Well, this is it, Ryan, what do you think?” Sajak asks about the set of Wheel of Fortune.

“Impressive, Pat,” Seacrest replied.

Sajak told Seacrest, “The contestants are going to love you.”

“I think what you are going to enjoy most is meeting the players and getting to know the audience at home,” Sajak added.

Wheel of Fortune became an institution as a family-friendly show where viewers could play along at home.

Seacrest recognized the connection the game show has made with so many viewers.

“It’s such a part of people’s lives,” Seacrest said.

Sajak recalled the outpouring of support he got from fans of the show.

“People love this show — they come up every day and thank us for a half hour where they can watch it with the whole family,” Sajak stated.

“Well, you both make it look so easy,” Seacrest replied.

Sajak acknowledged his long-time co-host and friend, letter-turner Vanna White.

“You’re never going to find a better job and you’re never going to find a better co-host,” Sajak said.

Seacrest paid tribute to Sajak on social media after the host’s final episode aired.

“Pat, congratulations on an incredible run with Wheel of Fortune!” Seacrest wrote. “Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades. Your partnership with Vanna has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you’ve created countless wonderful memories for viewers.”

Vanna White sticking around as Wheel of Fortune transitions to a new host

Vanna White and Pat Sajak became one of the most iconic duos in TV history during their time together on Wheel of Fortune.

She signed a two-year contract extension through 2025-26 last year.

After working with Sajak since 1982, White admitted that she thought about retiring with him after so many years together.

“Of course it’s a thought. It’s like, ‘Well, wait, if you’re leaving, what am I going to do? How can I stay without you?'” White told People Magazine last year. “It was a very hard decision for me to make, because it definitely crossed my mind. It’s like, ‘I just don’t know if I can do this without you,’ but I thought about it and I’m not ready to retire, so I am staying on.”

Now she can help transition Wheel of Fortune into a new era with Ryan Seacrest as host.

But she won’t be around for his entire tenure, and that’s something Seacrest and Wheel of Fortune will have to address in the not-too-distant future.
