Pope Francis left Christians scratching their heads after one strange decision

Pope Francis has won celebratory headlines across the so-called “mainstream” media for his liberal political views.

But he has often confused traditional Catholics with his statements.

And now millions of Christians are scratching their heads after one strange statement.

Francis changed Church teaching to oppose the death penalty in all cases.

The New York Times reports:

Pope Francis has declared that the death penalty is wrong in all cases, a definitive change in church teaching that is likely to challenge faithful Catholic politicians, judges and officials in the United States and other countries who have argued that their church was not entirely opposed to capital punishment.

Francis added the change to the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, the book of doctrine that is taught to Catholic children worldwide and studied by adults in a church with 1.2 billion members.

Francis said executions were unacceptable in all cases because they are “an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person,” the Vatican announced on Thursday.

The church also says it will work “with determination” for the abolition of capital punishment worldwide.

Previously, Catholic teachings had allowed for the death penalty in some cases after due process and a fair trial.

According to the Death Penalty Information Center, 23 Americans were executed after being sentenced to death in 2017.

Pope Francis weighed in against the death penalty, which is an important issue to leftists, but stayed silent on a referendum in Ireland to repeal the nation’s abortion ban.

It passed with 65 percent of the vote while the leader of the Catholic Church sat on his hands.

While the death penalty was carried out in 23 cases in America, 2017 saw well over 300,000 babies killed in Planned Parenthood’s abortion mills.

Traditional Catholics were appalled by the Pope refusing to stand for life – which is one of the most fundamental values in all of Christendom.

  1. I am Catholic but I am and, frankly, never have been enamored of this pope.(may God forgive me) I would like to understand how Pope Francis reconciles defending the dignity of a murderer against the dignity of the innocent that was murdered?? It’s a sad day in the Catholic Church with much of the teachings of this pope.

    • Gerry DealakianHi, You have to bear in mind that the Pope is the Pope for the entire Catholic Church and not just the Church in the US. The Pope has seen the abuse of the use of the death penalty in many countries, such as North Korea, China, Iran, etc. including for use in such matters as political “crimes”, i.e. opposition to the regime, apostasy, blasphemy, hoosexuality, adultery . He therefore spoke against the death penalty – in order to prevent such abuses. The Pope perhaps may have also been concerned about wrongful convictions that could result in the imposition of the death penalty. So, in that greater context, his comments are totally understandable.

    • GOD instituted the death penalty according to scripture!!

The pope does not read his bible, and you can tell when he

makes statements that are not backed by the word of God.

I’ll take Jesus over anything papal anyday !!!!

  2. This is why we have separation of Church and State. The Pope can spout whatever he wants. The Government of the United States doesn’t have to kowtow to it. The Catholic Church is just trying to make sure that it’s pervert priests don’t get executed. Catholicism is dying, not because it isn’t liberal enough, but because it is run by tired old men.

    • Over the centuries of it’s existence, the catholic church has likely killed more humans, more terribly, than any other unit excepting the Muslims! Perhaps both units should read their scriptures a little more closely? Both have made an art of murder, and yet they both claim to represent a loving GOD? Figure!

      • You COULD be right on that, however…
Moslems are CURRENTLY responsible for the deaths of more Moslems, each year, than all the rest of the deaths of Moslems that are killed by all other peoples.
Over 90% all of the 11 million Muslims killed in the Middle East since 1948, have been killed by other Muslims.
Only 0.3% have been killed by Israelis in the 70-year conflict!
Yet, Israel is accused of being the root of the Middle East’s problems!

It is a duplicitous straw-man argument to compare or equate what happened with Christianity 750 or more years ago, against what is currently happening within Islam today! Those Christian people have all been dead for over 650 years; can anything be done to change that history? While currently living Moslems are doing the same things they have always done: acting like an organized crime ring on steroids, but now they are still doing it, right NOW, TODAY!

It is beyond belief that anyone could compare what has happened in the distant past to the absolutely horrendous inhumane atrocities being carried out by Moslems in 2018. Not only do they do the most horrific things, but they are proud to video record and distribute those recordings. They are monsters and Obama was a monster when trying to minimize them.

The Christians and Jews and almost everyone else in the world are living in the 21st Century, while the MudSlimes have not progressed one iota since the 7th Century!

        • pineapplefish56: Thank you for your thoughtful – and well researched – comments. They are insightful and provide valuable context to the discussion.

  3. Liberalism is a mental deranged disorder and Pelosi, The pope, Acosta, Behar, Hillary, Comey, Whoopi, Baldwin, Beck, Waters, mcShame and Griffin are the poster girls!!!Just more liberal useful idiots on display !

    • Yes he is having problems. He needs to stay out of politics and do something about the priest situation. I am a craddle Catholic. I am heart broken about all this. I know this happens. I believe the answer is letting married men become priests. God forgive us all.

  4. To Rick,
    1 Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
    > Please remember Judaism ‘Preceded’ Christianity etc. One GOD, that’s All,
to Communicate w/ & No ‘mediator’ ie = DIRECT __ Also, please remember When
the 1st ‘printing press’ came into play ie Gutenberg, henceforth ‘a bible’
of sorts. Many ‘interpretations’ thru ‘Scribes’ & at that Time, much ‘ergo’
infected ‘crops’. So, just a consideration.
    > Timothy 1 2:5 says ” Christ Jesus”, NOT Jesus Christ, Big diff.
    > ‘Jesus’ (Christ = ‘CHRISTOS”) Which is ‘love’ & the Pictorial of the
‘Burning SACRED HEART'<<<& &&& 'that IS Chakra 'stuff'). Anyway,
    Perhaps Timothy scribed 'cryptic'.

  5. I don’t suppose this Pope has ever spoken with say a family of a murdered child or the families of children raped & tortured. He has a lot of nerve making such a statement. He’s the first pope that was given the title without the prior pope dying. Hmmm, coincidence or conspiracy, I do not know but I do think he has an element of evil. The Catholics in close with seem to disagree with their pope. Does he care about his followers or does he seek acceptance by those who share his beliefs?
I happen to read the Bible, it’s pretty clear about consequences.

    • K: Actually in history, there have been Popes who resigned and a new Pope was elected. One has to go back a number of centuries in history. So, there is no conspiracy and precedents. Jesus on the Cross said “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing”. And, yes, close family members do at times forgive the murders of heinous crimes. Some Catholics do disagree with the Pope – others fully support his teachings and statements. The Pope remains very popular among Catholics.
Yes, I also read the Bible and read about Jesus’s teachings of universal love, compassion and forgiveness. Sin is evil – but od is all merciful and forgives sinners who repent sincerely.

      • This Pope is very popular with Catholics who vote Democrat. These leftists Catholics aren’t faithful to church doctrine. Conservative Catholics are very troubled by this Pope’s progressive agenda.

        • Teragram: Yes, USA Catholics are not a monolithic bloc. Some support and vote for the Democrats and some support the Republicans. The Pope , however, is mindful of the fact that there are Catholics around the world – numerous in Latin America, Africa, in Europe and some in Asia. The Pope’s teachings are popular among many Catholics around the world.

          • Be honest. Just because his liberal leanings agree with yours does not negate the beliefs of the church nor those held by the conservative Catholic. Catholics understand that justice described by the church is different than social justice, as described by post modernism. There needs to be justice of God’s hand in heinous cases of crimes. It is justified.
Start changing one church-taught absolute, and the rest will follow. Athiests would love nothing more than to appeal to squishy Catholics to get them to demand this change.
We’ll be praying for the needs of all God’s children. Only He knows what His Children need, and is ready to grant that need when asked, and in His own time. Oh, the gifts we leave on the table …

  6. First off, let’s set one thing straight. Catholics are concerned with the Pope’s blather, and some of my conservative Catholic friends are not taken in by Pope Francis’s propaganda. Some have left the Church. Secondly, when you say “Christians” after already discussed “Catholics” you can only be referring to Protestants. Unless you missed the chapter on Martin Luther and the Reformation, Protestants in past centuries detested the Pope, fought Wars over the religion of their monarch, and burned Catholics at the stake. The opposite is also true. Today, Protestants and Catholics coexist peacefully, but Protestants do not give a tinker’s damn what the Pope says or does. This Pope was chosen behind closed doors (and not the Papal Conclave) to fit in with the Obama/UN Global wealth redistribution plan, and is a central figure of the Illuminati.

    • Wow I certainly do agree with your statement, Gordon. Never stand by while anyone reinvents God’s Word. ALL the bible is true and correct and good for REPROOF AND GODLY LIVING. The pope needs to spend his time reading ALL the bible. Not one rewritten to fit his agenda. God bless the reading of His word.

    • I strongly disagree with you, in that many Protestants, including myself, do very much “give a tinker’s dam” what the Pope says and does! My husband and I have many friends in the Catholic Church, including a priest, who is one of our closest friends, and we have appreciated the church’s former strong stand against abortion and other sins in society. We have been troubled by many things this Pope seems to believe.

  7. Pope Francis is the worst mistake by the Catholic Church in my considerably extensive lifetime. He seems an enemy of successful tradition and stable life memes.

    • Ernst et al, One Reason i am a RC (recovering catholic).

      • We adore Jesus, and believe He is God … not the priests, or nuns, or parents or extended family or friends ~ only way to God is through by following Jesus. The way to Jesus is through Mary ~ she is our mother who loves us, and can only bring us closer to her Son, Jesus the Christ. Listen to the grown-up you, and lead others to heaven. The alternative is truly horrible.

  9. The Christian writer Lactantius of Bithinia wrote about the Sixth Commandment (“Thou shalt not kill”) as follows:

“When God prohibits killing, he not only forbids us to commit brigandage, which is not allowed even by public laws, but he warns us not to do even those things which are legal among men. And so it will not be lawful for a just man to serve as a soldier for justice itself is his military service, nor to accuse anyone of a capital offense, because it makes no difference whether they kill with a sword or with a word, since killing itself is forbidden.”

Attacking even capital punishment, the great Church father Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage wrote:

“Christians are not allowed to kill, it is not permitted to guiltless to put even the guilty to death.”

Capital punishment is generally seen as a point of contention between liberal Christians and Vaishnavas, devotees of Lord Vishnu, as A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada taught us capital punishment is more merciful than life imprisonment, as a killer or a murderer will be absolved of the karma, and not have to suffer for his or her crime in future lifetimes.

However, it must be pointed out that sanctity-of-life issues like abortion, animal rights, capital punishment, euthanasia, indeed discussion over the moral wrong of killing itself… are all based on the premise that it’s wrong to prematurely end someone else’s life!

Vegan author John Robbins writes in his Pulitzer Prize nominated Diet for a New America (1987):

“Animals do not ‘give’ their lives to us, as the sugar-coated lie would have it. No, we take their lives. They struggle and fight… They go kicking and screaming, bellowing their protest, fighting for their lives, and calling… for somebody, somewhere, to please hear them.”

Plutarch (45 – 125 AD), was a Greek priest at Delphi. This gave him access to Greece’s most ancient traditions. Plutarch was one of the few writers in the ancient world to advocate vegetarianism solely out of compassion for animals, without referring to reincarnation.

His essay, “On Eating Flesh,” is a thought-provoking literary classic:

“Can you really ask what reason Pythagoras had for abstinence from flesh?” he began. “For my part I rather wonder both by what accident and in what state of mind the first man touched his mouth to gore and brought his lips to the flesh of a dead creature, set forth tables of dead, stale bodies, and ventured to call food and nourishment the parts that had before bellowed and cried, moved and lived.

“How could eyes endure the slaughter when throats were slit and hides flayed and limbs torn from limb? How could his nose endure the stench? How was it that the pollution did not turn away his taste, which made contact with sores of others and sucked juices and serums from mortal wounds?

“It is certainly not lions or wolves that we eat out of self-defense; on the contrary, we ignore these and slaughter harmless, tame creatures without stings or teeth to harm us For the sake of flesh we deprive them of sun, of light, of the duration of life to which they are entitled by birth and being.”

Plutarch then delivered his challenge to the flesh-eaters:

“If you declare that you are naturally designed for such a diet, then first kill yourself what you want to eat. Do it, however, only through your own resources, unaided by cleaver or cudgel or any kind of ax.”

Plutarch observed that the first man put to death in Athens was the most degraded amongst knaves, but eventually the philosopher Polemarchus (what to speak of Socrates) was put to death as well.

Plutarch concluded that killing animals, whether human or otherwise, is a bloodthirsty and savage practice which only serves to incline the mind towards more brutality. His argument appears to link the needless slaughter of animals to capital punishment.

    • The sixth Commandment DOES NOT say do no kill! In the Hebrew, original language of the commandment, it does not say not to kill. Unfortunately, when the King James Bible was translated, it was translated in error. The proper translation in not to murder. So what you are the pope is saying is against God’s word. Are you calling God a liar?
In regards to killing of animals, in the Book of Acts, Peter received a vision from God telling him to eat every kind of animal, so from what you have written, are you saying God is a liar?

      • Larry, in part you are correct. The Hebrew does use “murder” – not “kill.” However, murder translated as per the O.T. translates to not take “innocent blood.” There are many references in the O.T. and the N.T. where the taking of innocent blood is referred to as “murder.”
On another topic, yet still relevant to the taking of innocent blood, when will this pope (lower case on purpose) and so, so many of his ilk take a Strong stand against abortion? This horrible (evil) practice is truly taking innocent blood, much like the infant sacrifices pagans embraced in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America.

This world truly is the realm of Satan.

  11. I can’t say it more succinctly, this is no man of God ! His mind is governed by his political dogma. There are several places in the Bible that makes reference to capital punishment . . . in both the Old & New Testaments . . . none more clearly than it is stated in Revelation 10:13. This is clearly a political move to affect the nomination of President Trump’s (devoutly) Catholic SCOTUS nominee, Judge Cavanaugh. It’s quite disgusting, the disdain this “Pope” has against our president. If Judge Cavanaugh is true to his convictions to uphold the Constitution and disregard his PERSONAL beliefs, it should not affect his proposed nomination. It is very unfortunate that we have divisive religious leader involving himself in such political matters. There WILL BE a judgement seat of God and this “Pope” will need to face it !

  12. Jesus said in Luke 22:36: “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”

If Jesus was teaching this verse today he would say, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a AR-15, sell your cloak and buy one.”

  13. Jesus WAS PRO-DEATH PENALTY! This pope does NOT teach the word of God! The Catholic Church is false!

Do you even know Jesus? Jesus said we should kill everyone that rejects him.

    Luke 19:27

And these enemies of mine who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.’” 28After Jesus had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.…

Jesus also killed everyone in Sodom and Gomorrha .

    • Rick: You are taking Jesus’s teachings completely out of context. His consistent message was of universal love, compassion and forgiveness. Even when He was being led away to his execution He told Peter not to fight and even restored the ear of one of his assailants. Jesus said – He came to perfect the Old Testament. As to Sodom and Gomorrah – Jesus was not yet born on earth when those events happened. So, the stories in the Old Testament need to be treated carefully and taken with more than a grain of salt.

      • I think you need to study the Bible again. To say that “His [Jesus’] consistent message was of universal love, compassion and forgiveness” is not true. He also taught about judgment, eternity in hell for sinners, an extremely violent end to the earth where millions are slaughtered and so on, and much more. To say that Jesus’ consistent message was the things that you listed implies that this was His only message to the exclusion of other topics, messages, or teachings He spoke of often.

        • Roman & Jeffrey
Jeffery, you are closer to the truth than Roman. Jesus IS God. John 1:1 & John 1:14 Jesus is God incarnate. He is both God and man. As for not referencing Jesus in the O.T. read John 1:3.
Jesus/God created ALL of mankind. Jesus died for ALL who will accept Him. Those that don’t will stand before Him and receive ETERNAL punishment (whether someone believes in Him or not). God loves ALL of His creation – however – He WILL punish the guilty. Nahum 1:3

      • Now – who are you say that. Are you God Almighty judging people, including the Pope? Remember, he who has not sinned, let him cast the first stone.

  14. While I am not a Catholic nor do I believe in what the Catholic church teaches in many areas, I do know Catholics who are as worthy of Heaven as anyone else. They for what ever reason remain in the Catholic church while they consistently, ” Study the word to see if these things be so.” They do not believe in the dogma supporting prayer to saints and confession to the priest, sins committed. I have not had any serious doubts about the Catholic church, but this Pope is certainly stretching the bounds of what he is given charge over. Let the pope be a leader of Catholics and let leaders of each nation be responsible for governance of the people. The Pope is way off the rails trying to control nations and laws. As the bible says, “Render unto Cesar the things that are Cesar’s. Render unto God the things that are Gods.” The pope is trying to control the world, which gives many including myself cause to doubt and wonder what his intent is.

    • pope Francis is the false prophet we were warned about. So I just take what he says witj a grain of salt and pay no never mind

    • Your concern and analysis is correct. This pope has gone over the line of spiritual leadership and into unbiblical distortion. It is way beyond the scope of his authority . . . as you pointed out, “Render unto Caesar, what is Caesar’s and render unto God which belongs to God!” Well stated !

    • Jhn, NO ONE is worthy of Heaven/Eternal Life. Jesus was and is the only one who ever lived a perfect sin free life. Ephesians 2:8-9

  15. I have a BIG PROBLEM with the ‘pope’ being a person chosen by Christ to lead his people (church) on Earth. I know they (the Catholic church) site Jesus saying to Peter, “You are Peter, on this rock I will build my church.” Peter was installed (by the Catholic church) as the first ‘pope’ AFTER HE WAS EXECUTED BY THE ROMANS! I think Jesus was probably referring to ‘True Believers'(spiritual), not the physical person (the flesh) of Peter!(though I don’t know 100%, as I’m NOT JESUS/GOD/HOLY SPIRIT.

  16. So this anti-Christ pope is all bent out of shape because we rightfully execute a handful of murders each year. But says little to NOTHING about the 60 million murdered babies murdered since Roe V Wade? He needs to get his priorities straight or better yet step down NOW!

I hate how liberal pro choicers AKA “pro-baby murderers” demean life by calling an unborn baby a “clump of cells” or a “fetus.” I like to call it what it is, “a baby!” He or she is no more a “clump of cells” than I am or you are! In fact he or she has just as long a DNA code as a fully grown adult. The unborn babies DNA is as unique as his or her fathers and mothers.

And the word “fetus” is latin meaning “little one” when describing an unborn human baby. Liberals expect me to beleive that a “fetus/clump of cells” can be born gay but it is NOT alive?

If you had an abortion you murdered your baby, unless in case of ectopic pregnancy with VERY few other small exceptions!!

Just because the Federal Government says killing your unborn baby is okay does NOT make it so! To date 60.1 million babies have been slaughtered horrably in abortion mills since Roe V Wade!

The Nazi Government under Adolf Hitler said it was okay to murder 6 million Jews in gas chambers or to shoot them in mass graves was okay!…..Was it okay?…….NO!

    • Rick you are so right, Genesis 9:6 who so sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be she’d: for in the image of GOD made he man
Leviticus 24:17 and he that killeth any manshall surley be put to Death
Numbers 35:31 more over you shall take no satisfaction for that of a murder, which (is) guilty of death: but he shall surley be put to Death
This Pope should really read the bible, instead of showing his ignoranc. He is a son of Satan.

    • AMEN, AMEN, AMEN Rick!!
How is it that some Hollyweardos call or accept the term “baby bump” and yet support abortion?! I don’t get the double speak. James 3:11-12

  17. It was written by a pope at thousand years ago that the last pope would be a black pope,And Francis is the black pope as the Jesuit order is considered the black order! I don’t trust this communist as far as I could throw him. He will make more and more rash decisions that will divide the church completely as spoken up in the prophecies

  18. Pope Francis suggests translation change to the ‘Our Father’ The lords prayer…..Jesus taught us that prayer!

This pope thinks he knows better than God Jesus!

Pope Francis thinks the church should tweak the translation of the “Our Father” to clear up the confusion around the phrase “lead us not into temptation.”

“That is not a good translation,” the pope said in a interview on Wednesday night with Italian television.

A possible alternative is the phrase “do not let us fall into temptation,” which is currently used by the French church. In his interview, Pope Francis suggested that phrase could be adopted more widely.

Why would anybody listen to this antichrist pope? God gave us all “free will” so why would this man want to change the word of God from “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” to “Do not let us fall into temptation?”

This would remove free will from us and give it fully to God! God loves us so much he gave us the choice to choose for ourselves.. I prefer that God “Leads me” instead of “forcing me….”

    Revelation 22:19

Nothing May Be Added or changed!

18I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. 20

In the book of Job, God gave permission to Satan to test (tempt) Job. I guess the “Holy Father” needs to read the bible.

    • The ‘Lords Prayer’ ie ” 0UR Father Who Art in Heaven, hallowed
Be Thy Name” etc. IS probably 0ne of the Most Profound Prayer

  19. Catholics WRONGLY pray to Mary and the “saints.”

    1 Timothy 2:5

“For there is oneGod and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

They commit idolitry and pray to statues of i.e. crucifixes of Jesus “graven images” of Jesus, Marry and the apostles and angels and saints.

    Exodus 20:3

    The Ten Commandments

…2″I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3″You shall have no other gods before Me. 4″You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.”

They call the pope ‘holy father” there is only 1 holy father, the almighty God!

Matthew 6:9 Our father who art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name!”

They baptize by sprinkling a few drops of water on the forehead instead of emersion.

    Mark 1:10The Baptism of Jesus

9In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10As soon as Jesus “CAME UP OUT OF THE WATER,” he saw the heavens breaking open and the Spiritdescending on Him like a dove. 11And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”…

The catholics sided with the Nazies in ww2!

      • Joe… Everything I posted is 100% factual truth! The “truth” always sounds like bigotry to those who hate truth!

The “truth” is often Insulting to those whom believe the lie!

Facts, by their very nature, have no capacity to be “bigotry”.

Example- if you jump in front of a speeding locomotive, the locomotive will take ZERO notice of your religious inclinations before turning you into something resembling strawberry jam. That is a FACT.

      • Joe. How was I being a “bigot?” I am NOT certain you know the definition of the word “bigot,” lDlOT so here it is.

“a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.”

So with you it is “do as I say NOT as I do,” have I got that right?

FYI calling someone or some organization what they are is NOT bigotry it is merely stating a fact!

I was once catholic and went to catholic school for 7 years, but then I grew up grew a brain and realized the truth! The Catholic Church teaches lies!

        • Having a Masters Degree in English , I believe that I know the meaning of the word ” bigot ” . You are a bigot , my friend .

          • Kathleen Macellis Okay, please explain HOW I was being a “bigot?” Oh……Thats right you weren’t there the day they taught bigotry in class now were you! Maybe you should have stayed in school and received a doctorate. Then you might know the meaning of the word “bigot!” I learned the meaning of the word way back in 5th grade!

By the way my above definition of the word Bigot, “a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.” Was taken word for word from the Dictionary!

AGAIN! Calling someone or some organization what they are is NOT bigotry it is merely stating a fact!

          • Kathleen Macellis…..Joe…..If anything I am a “bigot” against the false teachings/lies of the Catholic Church, isn’t that a good thing?

I have NOTHING against Catholics, on the contrary I feel very sorry for them, they do NOT realize they have been lead astray…

You must also think the Apostle Paul was being a bigot in his letter to the church at corinthians right?

While in Ephesus, Paul learned about the problems that arose in the newly formed church in Corinthians and wrote this letter to instruct them on how to deal with these problems. Today, the church continue to face many of these same problems even centuries after Paul wrote this letter. The book of First Corinthians therefore becomes an instructional guide for us on how to deal with them.

            Isaiah 5:20

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

            Isaiah 58:1

“Cry aloud, do not hold back! Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to My people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins. 2For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”…

          • Kathleen Macellis and Joe….. Was Jesus a bigot against Matthew 23: If so I can live with you calling me a bigot as I am in very good company! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

when he said….But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

      • Joe Rick is telling the truth read the passages that he mentions, why does the pope have a oblisk in the square. why does he wear a pagan fish hat look at the cross with Christ on it pagan, Christ is no longer on the cross this is sacrilegious!!!

      • Joe disagreeing with certain religious teachings does not make someone a bigot. Your statement is a type of bullying. I’m baptist but have no problem with someone following their faith. But I disagree with the teachings of the Catholic Church. But at least they aren’t out to cut my head off. Islam is the worst.

    • Possibly. We do know that Pope Pius was soft on Hitler,in fear the monster would not allow the Catholics freedom to worship. (Lateran accord)

    • Gary: Are you arrogant enough to claim that you are an authority on the Bible and the Pope is not? The Pope is a learned man that espouses the teachings of Jesus – love, compassion and forgiveness. Remember Jesus’s teachings of the 8 Beatitudes. You should show respect to the Pope – even if you differ with his views.

        • I would recommend using even newer translations. I know what I am about to say will cause the gnashing of teeth, but there are too many errors in the King James translation. Such as the Sixth Commandment is not “Thou shall not kill”, the actual translation is “Do not commit murder”.

          • True, Larry. We are not forbidden to use deadly force in military duty or legal defense of ourselves or others. Jesus is quoted in the KJV as saying unless we hate our mother and father, we cannot be his decipiles. We are not to literally hate our parents. But love them less than we love Jesus.

        • Dan: I read the Bible – but prefer the Jerusalem Bible version which is the most updated version. I never take passages out of context – and only use selectively what pleases me. Jesus’s message is clear – universal love, compassion and forgiveness.

          • True Roman. He taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Also to forgive our enemies. Sometimes it’s easier said than done. But that can’t be taken out of context. I have forgiven some pretty serious stuff. But the law can’t just forgive criminals and set them all free. People sometimes get jailhouse religion. I say be compassionate but punish the guilty. We don’t have to trust the offender going forward.

          • Roman we are told by Jesus to love and forgive. Does not mean criminals are to escape punishment.

    • Gary, EVERY POPE has been against the teachings of the Bible! The Pope was NOT instituted by Jesus! The falling Roman empire placed the first pope, NOT the Christian church. Catholic church is NOT the same as Christianity!! In Christianity Jesus is the head. In Catholic church the Pope is the head. According to Bible doctrine the Catholic Church is a false religion. Anti-Christ.

  20. So the Pontiff is against executing even a mass murderer, or a child murderer. BUT, he is alright with the murders of unborn children. Does he not realize that the abortions could seriously impact the congregations of his own Catholic Churches? He is so liberal he is two faced. He is a good politician, for he speaks out of both sides of his mouth at the same time.

    • You are incorrect – the Pope condemns abortion. He has called it part of the culture of death. You complain that he is sensitive to social issues. He takes to heart Jesus’s message in the 8 Beatitudes – and tells us to also show love, compassion and forgiveness.

      • Roman…. Didn’t you read the article? “Pope Francis weighed in against the death penalty, which is an important issue to leftists, but stayed silent on a referendum in Ireland to repeal the nation’s abortion ban.

It passed with 65 percent of the vote while the leader of the Catholic Church sat on his hands.

While the death penalty was carried out in 23 cases in America, 2017 saw well over 300,000 babies killed in Planned Parenthood’s abortion mills.

Traditional Catholics were appalled by the Pope refusing to stand for life – which is one of the most fundamental values in all of Christendom.”

        • You always have to be careful what you read. There is plenty of fake news – and not only in left-wing sites. The Church strongly condemns abortion. The Pope for tactial reasons left it to the Catholic Church in Ireland to oppose abortion – and they did oppose abortion. The Church stands for the sacredness of all life – from conception until natural death. The issue of capital punishment is controversial – and might be subject to miscarriage of justice, resulting at times of innocent people being executed or mentally insane persons. The Pope has time and again spoke of love, compassion and forgiveness. It is important to take his statements in that context.

          • Roman…. The Pope is supposed to revere the teachings of God as they are laid out in the Holy Bible, he does NOT! Jesus God, was pro-death penalty! So the pope should also be pro-death penalty! The Catholic Church does NOT teach the word of God and it is becoming much, much more obvious with this pope in particular.

The pope is all bent out of shape because we rightfully execute a handful of murders each year. But says little to NOTHING about the 60 million murdered babies murdered since Roe V Wade? He needs to get his priorities straight or better yet step down NOW!

    • Dan Tyree: What you said is true and I agree with it. What Jesus said – He said it in a religious sense – what secular authorities need to do is another matter in order to defend innocent citizens. The Pope is head of the universal Catholic Church. The Pope’s statements on capital punishment should be viewed in the context of numerous countries that abuse capital punishment for all sorts of political ends. I have in mind the harshness of Iran, China, Saudi Arabia, North Korea and many other countries in the Middle East- which condemn and execute numerous innocent people for what they regard as crimes, but those individuals were often just expressing their freedom of speech or religion that are embodied in the UN Charter on Human Rights.

      • Roman people get executed in America, but our system is more fair. I would have done been offed in the countries you mentioned. That is exactly why we must defend and strengthen our constitutional rights. That also includes fighting bigotry. We all have our differences. We just need to agree to disagree.

        • Dan Tyree: I fully agree with what you said. It is important to try to find common ground – and not let the disagreements get out of hand – but, just respectfully agree to disagree.

          • Lots of wars and violence started over religion and politics. I havale a lot of catholic friends, also some from about all faiths including Jehoviah’ witnesses Have worked with these people. Lots of times we shared religious jokes and jesting. The only one whom got riled was a snake handler Pentecostal. We stopped it, for to not is bullying.

          • DAn Tyree: I fully agree with what you said and your approach. Religion is a very sensitive matter – and everyone’s views deserve respect. I fully endorse the Ecumenical movement – which the Catholic Church also supports. According to the Ecumenical movement, we should all, irrespective of our denominations, try to get closer to Jesus – and in Jesus we will find unity. I believe that is the way forward.

  21. John 8:1-11

“Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

God the Father of the Old Testament established execution, but the loving and kind God the Son of the New Testament abolished it. I’m pretty sure such people don’t realize they’re denying the Trinity when they say this.

The doctrine of the Trinity affirms the eternal unity of all three persons of the Godhead, but such a fundamental disagreement between the Son and the Father would rupture this unity. In fact, if Jesus had contradicted any of the Father’s principles, let alone such a well-established one, that very disagreement would have immediately disproved His claims to be the divine Son. This was exactly the heresy the Pharisees were hoping to trap Him into when they brought the woman caught in adultery to Jesus. Even His enemies knew that He had to affirm capital punishment in order to prove Himself a true prophet. How strange, then, that those who claim to love Jesus assert that He did exactly what His enemies failed to trick Him into doing! Far from opposing capital punishment, Jesus actually advocated it, as His unity with the Father required.

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus taught, “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished.” Just a few verses later, He extends the prohibition against murder to hatred and condemns haters to “the hell of fire” (v. 22), which is strange talk for someone who opposes capital punishment.

    • Rick: The Pope reveres the word of God and Jesus’s message. Jesus was an example of being wrongfully and brutally executed by those who had no compassion.
In fact, you may not appreciate, the Pope’s messages of love, compassion and forgiveness – reflected in his views stemming from Jesus’s teachings of the Eight Beatitudes.
The Bible needs to be read in its full contenxt – a message of love and compassion to all.
You make incorrect statements about the Catholic Church not standing for life – in fact, the Catholic Church strongly condemns abortion.
You may have different views – but please do not show hatred to Catholics. Because, even according to the quotation that you cited, hatred is condemned to the fires of hell.

      • Roman…….Sorry to have to tell you this, but…….The Catholic Church is a false church and it does NOT revere the Holy word of God as it is written in the Bible! I was catholic for 14 years I know this to be true!

        • Rick – Specifically regarding Luke 19:27 you take that passage out of context – in the parable of 10 talents. It is king who passed out the talents – and it is the king who said slay my enemies. It is a parable – illustrating the power of secular authorities – not an endorsement of their behavior. Jesus’s consistent message was universal love, compassion and forgiveness. You wrongly ascribe that passage to Jesus’s views about proper behavior and wrongly claim that he believed in killing and violence.

  22. If you are catholic, RUN from that church! Find a good bible teaching evangelical church that teaches the word of God…

The catholic church teaches many blatantly wrong teachings..

“Pope Francis says evolution is real and God is no wizard!”

This pope says it is okay to be gay. Jesus killed every Sodomite and Gamahoran because he is anti LBGTQ. John 8:58 Before Abraham was Born, I Am

…57Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?” 58“Truly, truly, I tell you, Jesus declared, “beforeAbraham was born, I am!” 59At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and slipped away from the temple area.…

Genesis 18:17 Abraham Begs for Sodom

16Then the men rose up from there, and looked down toward Sodom; and Abraham was walking with them to send them off. 17The LORD said,”Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,18since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth will be blessed?…

He says it is wrong for America to build a wall when the vatican has a very nice wall. Revelation 21:12The New Jerusalem

…11shining with the glory of God. Its radiance was like a most precious jewel, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12The city had a great and high wallwith twelve gates inscribed with the names of thetwelve tribes of Israel, and twelve angels at thegates. 13There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south, and three on the west.…

They teach baptism for babies, babies are without sin. Jesus was 30 years old when he was baptized.

    Matthew 19:14

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

They teach say 50 our fathers and 10 hail marries. Repetitious prayer

    Matthew 6:7-8

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

    • And you think that you are more wise than the Catholic Cardinals – learned men in the Scriptures and inspired by the Holy Spirit – who selected the Pope? Is this not the height of arrogance? But, then, you probably think you the wisest person in the world – and you only pay attention selectively to the passages in the Bible that suit your personal viewpoint and agenda – ignoring Jesus’s statements about love, compassion, forgiveness and His message in the 8 Beatitudes.

  23. This pope is nothing more than heretic whose time to move on has come. The only time his words are meaningful are when he speaks infallibly , other than that his words are no more no less than those of a citizen of the world, and he makes no attempt to distinguish between the two so that those not in on this little fact think he speaks for GOD, a fact that is not known by all those who hear what he says. I personally think he should RETIRE, and the sooner the better, he’s giving the CHURCH a bad name………

    • He needs to as of yesterday! He opposes exterminating vermin while 1.6 million unborn children are murdered annually. His communist values only hurt everyone. To incarcerate these vile criminals for their lifetime at the expense of the taxpayer in unconscionable.

    • Some idiots think Apostile Peter was the first pope. Not so!! I have read Peter’s writings and about his ministry in the book of Acts. He did not preach worshiping Mary. Or the lies about seven deadly sins He preached salvation through Jesus and Him alone. No catholic doctrine conserving the saving of our souls.

      • iam an excatholic who left the church almost 50 yrs ago after attending services and seeing people coming and standing at the door to get their required time in rather than worshipping God the father and jesus the Christ savior of those who repent and are born again. peter said there is only one name given under heaven among men by which we must be saved which means that the pope is counted in that group

  24. This phony is a devout Communist who truly doesn’t believe in the true teaching of the Catholic Church. If a Liberal politician is Pro-Abortion he believes it is ok after he delivers a BS speech. The only time you see someone stand-up for the unborn is a local clergyman every once in while. This Little Stalin has yet to excommunicate Politicians who justify abortion. This pope has chased away more people from the Catholic Church then anyone or anything in recorded history. What Catholics world wide should do is stop funding this charlatan & his new style Communist Church until he is sent on his way by the Congress of Cardinals. If this doesn’t occur then hit the restart button & start the Church all over again following traditional values.

  25. Then maybe Father you can start to teach them their Catechism via the Catechism of Pope Pius X and ask your duly ordained Confreres to do likewise. Without adequate Catechesis you become another Sisyphus endlessly pushing a rock uphill and seeing is fall back down the hill.

  26. Francis Is a dyed in the wool Marxist shilling for the New world Order. His Hierarchy 60 % are part of the deviant prelates the College of Cardinals have no control of and are useless in preserving the Deposite of Faith. Traditional Roman Catholics worship and practice the same Catholicism practiced before Vatican II. Latin Masses are hard to come by but people attend wherever they can find one and go to confession to priests in Monastaries. It is not the first time the Church has been forced to go underground since it has occurred at other times in its 2000 year history. We have survived before and with Christ’s help will prevail.

  27. Yet this so-called “pope” sucks up to islam , the very criminals that murder ANYBODY for the slightest reasons , according to their barbaric sharia cult !

  28. But yet this so-called “pope” sucks up to islam , who gladly murders ANYBODY , various barbaric ways , for any little reason , according to the sharia cult !

  29. This so-called Pope claims that the death penalty is wrong because he is worried about all of these Politicians that are committing HIGH TREASON will soon be arrested and charged and than put to death for their so-called “New World Order” that they have been fighting so hard for with all of their High Treason Crimes will soon be dead in the water. Thanks to our God and our wonderful President Trump.

  30. Pope Francis is Satan put in office by Satans only son Obama’
both are spreading Satans wordd. Francis should be excommunicated he is filth.

        • RebNcity – The TRUTH? She posted nothing but partisan bullsh*t. No that didn’t hurt one bit. Just sad for her lack of intelligence (and apparently yours).

        • Rick – Obama is more of a Cristian than Trump will ever be. Trump only cares about himself and that’s blatantly obvious to anybody with a double digit IQ. See? Two can play your blatantly obvious ignorant games.

          • obama is a muslim…How can any professing Christian i.e. “Obama” believe in abortion and killing innocent babies in the womb then shed false tears every time there is some shooting some where. How can any one like that criticize the crusades and yet not have any plan to eradicate isis let alone call them isis or radical islam. Or teach our children that there is no difference between genders and everyone should use the same bathroom.

Or say “America is no longer a Christian nation.”

What kind of Christian is that ? I think it’s called a false prophet or false teacher. I guess we’ll see when Jesus opens the books of eternal life.

Go to U tube and look up Obama saying “thank you satan” and “serve satan” Obama is the one in need of an exorcism!

And Omuslim was NO Christian! He went to a church where the pastor “Reverand” Jerimiaha write said, “NOT GOD BLESS AMERICA, BUT GOD D**N AMERICA,” and then he lied and said, “Thats in the Bible!”

          • Diane…. You say, “Trump only cares about himself.” How so? Don’t you know he is working for us for free and is donating 100% of his Presidential income to charity? And that his personal wealth has declined 1 billion while in office? On the other hand, Obamas wealth increased from a few hundred thousand to over 12 million!

Obama claimed to be a Christian but spent eight years poking his finger in the eyes of Christian believers. His administration tried to force Christian groups to provide abortion drugs as part of Obamacare.

          • Diane……Obama also said “We are NO longer a Christian nation!”

Obama even put on the White House Christmas Decor Featuring mass murderer Mao Zedong!

I love how Trump called Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior on world television.

December 1st at the White House tree lighting event

“For Christians this is a holy season, the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said, standing alongside first lady Melania Trump on a platform at the Ellipse near the White House. When did Obama EVER say anything like this?

          • Rick – How can you be so brainwashed nd ignorant to think Obama is a Muslim? Oh wait, you ONLY get your “news” from Breitbart or Faux AlmostNews. Do you know how much Trump’s properties get from ignorant taxpayers, like you, everytime he goes there? He can afford to pass up his salary because he’s violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution. Trump claimed more than $37 million in income from Mar-a-Lago as well as $20 million in income from the nearby golf club he owns in Jupiter, Florida. His golf course in Bedminster, NJ brought in $19.7 million in income. He’s getting rich in office and apparently you’re to lazy (or dumb) to research this and figure that out. Multiple lawsuits have been filed over this. He’s the most corrupt politician to ever hold the office, but it’s going to catch up to him…..eventually.

          • Diane I was brainwashed into believing Obama is a muslim, when Obama said he was a muslim!

Sep 7, 2008 – Is it another Obama gaffe or the truth slipping out? … Obama: “My Muslim Faith”.

Barack Obama “I Will Stand with the Muslims Should the Political Winds Shift.”

He’s not a Christian at all – actions speak louder than words and he is the most anti-Christian, anti-American president we have ever had.  That is a frightening thing for our president to be.

Suffice it to say NOTHING you have said is true.

          • pope Francis is the false prophet we were warned about. So I just take what he says witj a grain of salt and pay no never mind

        • Rick: You certainly have no respect for others who have a different point of view.
And you call yourself – violating Jesus’s teachings of love, compassion, non-violence and forgiveness?

          • Dan Tyre: Jesus’s teachings complimented the teachings in the Old Testament. Jesus was no bigot – but then you are no Jesus nor are the people espousing hatred for the Catholic Church and misinterpreting its teachings.

  31. For when we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim your death oh Lord until you come again. THE ONLY JUDGE OF MAN KIND.

  32. Pope Francis is like his Dear Friend, Barack Obama.
Barack tried to impose Marxism on Americans to
tear us down & rebuild us into a Junior USSR & Pope
Francis is trying to Tear Catholicism & All Christianity
Down & Rebuild us into a Global Religion(Islam) with the UN as a New & Obscene Vatican.
They’re Both NUTS & Obama Failed & his Dear Friend, Pope Francis will Fail, too. These Radical Lefties need to try that in another area, because
Americans see thru these two Chimps!

  33. “IF” he actually were God’s emissary on earth he would NOT be political. While we must be “in of this system of things” and submit to the rule of man without abandoning our religious ideals, we should not become “part of this system of things”. Which makes me less than an ideal Christian. That being said, the Pope should stick to pontificating on things he knows, not on things he knows not. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out exactly what he would talk about.

  34. I cannot reply to all these non Catholics who really fo not know the first thing about our church. I do not agree with all my church teaches. I do not agree with all any denomination reaches. I have a personal relationship with God and rely on the Holy Sprit and not man

    • That, father, is wonderfully in a true Christian spirit. Those who are not Catholic or grow up Catholic need to know that the Roman Catholic faith is not monolithic, and has a variety of different opinions and positions (some we would call “conservative” and some we would call “liberal”). But there are still great and dedicated God Loving Christians in the faith, and Catholics are so very, very, VERY strong in helping the poor and hungry and those in need.

    • Father Martin you were baptized and you now accept Jesus of Nazareth as being Messiah. That is all that is required by God for your Eternal security in Heaven.
Jesus gave that answer when he spoke with a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well. In another place He said: “He who believes and is baptized will be “saved” –from Eternity in Hell. The Love of our Lord Christ be with you always. I am a believing, baptized Protestant and I can ask God’s Blessing on you, an ordained Priest.

    • I was baptised Catholic and am a believer in J.C. but this Pope is a Pedophile. I feel his teachings brought forth the crimes against children by parish priests. If you would go to alternative MSM you would learn that the Pope IS A PEDOPHILE. There was an attempt to arrest him by INTERPOLE
But his Swiss guard protecting him beat the arresting police to allow the Pope to eacape back to the Vatican where he is kept from future arrests. Have you seen him out side the Vatican lately?#Walkaway. Vote Republican.

      • Bruce – OMG, another Q conspiracy guy! Notice how you’re all ignorant misinformed conservatives? I have. You live in an alternative universe and are far away from reality. Better not skip your meds today……you’re in danger of going the edge!

        • And you’re not to bright are you. Diane if your head wasn’t up your ass, you’d see things other than your hemmoroids

          • RebNcity – Get back to me when you have something intelligent to say. I’m guessing I’ll be waiting awhile.

    • IF YOU have a personal relationship then get on your direct line and tell your buddy to get off the golf course and straight out the world. If your buddy was going his job the very second someone thought about committing a crime they would just evaporate into to thin air. Did not your pope say “Christians Don’t Own Gun and don’t Build Walls? Where the pope lives they have enough armament for a third world county and then just look at the walls.

He should stay out of politics as he does not know what he’s talking about. PERIOD

    • Fr Tom Martin : You are a thoughtful man who evaluates issues on their merits and holds a respectful discussion. Many others on this site should follow your example. Unfortunately, many individuals are biased and facts don’t matter to them – they just espouse their ignorant hatred for the Catholic Church.

  35. I’m thankful to JESUS that I’m a Spirit filled, tongue talking child of the most High God! Thank you JESUS! Hallelujah! Praise God! Praise God! JESUS said only way to Heaven is through Him! I’m asking JESUS to open Catholics eyes to the TRUTH! JESUS is HEAD OF THE CHURCH not the Pope! no one should be praying to Mary.

        • Cathoics DO NOT worship Mary. Worship only belongs to GOD. Is it not time to put this lie in the trash? Mary is revered as the Mother of God. She is not divine nor has she any powers that do not emanate from God.

          • Mannie Harrison. Amen. Totally agree with you. So many Protestants and evangelicals, “fundamentalists” are completely misinformed about the Catholic Church’s teachings regarding Mary.

      • Dennis Stewart: Jesus was both human and divine. As the Bible tells – at age twelve he went to the temple and held discussions with religious learned men. His Mother did not know where He was and went searching for Him. When she found Him, he said “Did you not know that I was about my Father’s business”. This Biblical passage does indicate that Jesus’s human nature was such that He had not told His mother – and there could have been some misunderstandings and possibly even some conflicts. We need to bear in mind that Jesus was both human and divine – granted that we do not fully understand how the two natures of Jesus interacted.

  36. This Pope does not represent the majority of Catholics. He represents the Globalists and Progressives of the world. I am a Catholic and I am very disappointed in this Pope. This Pope has maligned the U.S. leadership and the people of America. What he may not realize or doesn’t give a damn is the fact that if we stayed on the same track that Obama and Clinton were heading us toward, there would be no Catholic church or Jewish faith allowed in this Country. Both Obama and Clinton made nefarious and insulting remarks about anyone using their religion as a crutch and how outdated religion is. But Obama never mocked the Muslims since that is his faith.

    • I agree. I am not a Catholic. Francis is a Left Wing Politician and certianly not a Pope. I see the day when the Catholic members will walk away from their church and start putting their faith in the Bible instead of a Left Winger. The Catholic Church as done quit a job brain washing 1.5 billion people in the world but they are starting to wake up. Obama and Clinton are TOTAL LOSERS!! BOTH ARE A DISGRACE TO OUR COUNTRY!!

      • I agree, when someone asks me if I’m Catholic I have to hesitate, sometimes my answer is No, I’m a Christian or I say “ I’m not THAT kind of Catholic”, between the pope who is a ledgen in his own mind, the social justice crap before God and disgruntled pro-abortion nuns I just can’t even attend mass anymore

    • I am shocked by this Pope’s leftist views andnit standing up against abortion. It has already filtered down to the Bishop’s. Reminding me of the last parts of the series “Left Behind”… and that is scary. So disappointed.

      • I would think the Pope would be more concerned about abortion than immigration. If he wants to change anything I wish he would tackle the remarried divorced person receiving communion. We’re all sinners and it is up to God to forgive us, not this one person.

    • I totally agree ! I am a cradle Catholic and very traditional
I am not a liberal and love my President!
I do not like this pope or agree with his thinking!
He does not undermined my faith for I have a
strong Catholic foundation! I will die a Catholic
And only God an judge Pope Francis

    • Good answer except Christ was sinless and without fault. This pope is not thinking right when you see that 300,00 babies were murdered and he thinks it’s ok. I’m quitting the Catholic religion…too many stupid changes.

      • What many people do not realize is that abortion is a form of genocide since these babies had beating hearts and are human beings. I can understand some exceptions for the use of abortion but not just because these babies are a nuisance or blocking their chances to advance their lives.

      • He is thinking right for an impostor and a liar extraordinaire. Bergoglio isn’t a pope. He is a PERVERT who specializes in perfecting pandemonium to help Satan capture souls.

  37. I would venture to say that 99% of those who responded to this have no idea what the Catechism of the church says in the first place, much less why the Catechism said what it did.

  38. I am not a Catholic and there fore do not believe or understand anything about what the pope of said church declares himself to be, and I most certainly do not understand where he can for the whole of mankind say what the laws of this world can or should be. What I do believe is that all of mankind including the catholic church leader is human and My Bible says very clearly that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Martin Luther who was a part of catholic thinking is very clear as to the priesthood of all believers and he after a great struggle within himself came to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is the only true leader of the whole of Christianity and only through His dying on the cross do any of us become saved from the curse of sin. If my training in the Lutheran Faith is solid, and I believe it is. then anything that we do that is contrary to God being in control of all life is a sin of enth degree. thus the act of killing some or the thought of wishing some one were dead are all and the same the killing of that person. Thus every so called sin including just thinking about doing some wrong to another person is an act violence that does harm to that other person as well as doing harm to the person who is thinking about doing harm to anyone including the baby in the womb is against the will of God.

    • I agree with you James Hartmann. I would also add that I believe the POPE should busy himself being a POPE for the Catholic Church and NOT doing an immitating “politician. I left the Catholic Church more than 30 years ago and am much happier and learning more of the BIBLE as a Christian without the “Pope” who is also a mere man.

      • Well said, J.L. and thank you! I left the Catholic Church at 19 after years of Catholic theology, and rarely ever looked at the Bible during theology for six days a week. Not only did a learn a ton more about the Bible, I learned that THE big change for that branch is around the third century when they made the CLERGY the church and crucial for salvation. It put the clergy as primary and the parishioners, especially women, in a secondary role . . . and worse, developed this doctrine of “Papal infallability.” Study history and you see a lot of the Popes were some of the worst people of that generation.

      • Amen to that and besides whatever happened to the separation of the church and the state since when is the pope declaring that we need to do this you’re right the lefties are making him do this so that they can get away with all kinds of s***

    • Well, remember the pope was voted in by men. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find out some of them were pedophiles.
Its not like GOD had anything to do with it.

  39. I never believed that one man should control the world in the faith department.
Unless that person is the Son of God. I do not believe in people worshipping Mary.
I do not believe in people praying to saints. The Bible states that there is one
God and one mediator between God and man. That is Jesus, the Christ. No earth man can
forgive sins, only Jesus has the power and authority to do that. Jesus was sentenced
to death on the cross. He offered himself a ransom for us all. So, even He believed
in the death penalty. I’m sure that He doesn’t agree with abortion. Old king Herod
had all of the young children slaughtered who were toddlers. He had a murderous desire
to remain king no matter who he had to kill. Reminds me of someone has murdered people to avoid facing justice.

    • Then you do not believe when someone wrk gs you the Bible does not say you can forgive their sin. I do worship Mary I honor Mary because it says blessed is your womb.

      • Nowhere in Holy Scripture does God say He requires us to worship Mary. The First Commandment makes that clear. God also made it clear that we are not to add anything to Holy Scripture. That means no person has the authority to change, add to or subtract from Holy Scripture as originally penned in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Jerusalem is God’s Holy City, not Rome Italy. Nowhere in Holy Scripture is it stated that any person other than Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, is Head of the Christian Church worldwide. The Papacy was invented to replace the Caesars. “Popes” took over where the Caesars ended and the Roman Empire became known then as the “HOLY Roman Empire”. That “Empire” was never instituted by God.

  40. The pope is a libtard and the head of a church that has had the inquisition in its past. That church is men dominated and not worthy. Its nothing but another political entity based in a religious doctrine that has no place in todays world anymore. Religion and churches need to be abolished – PERIOD

    • You have no right to abolish religion. The Constitution guarantees that right. Simply do not go to church we will not miss you.

      • WRONG Fr Tom
This man belongs IN church! He should be missed if he isn’t there. i.e. the lost coin, the lost sheep, etc. This man belongs in the congregation of a Bible believing, Bible teaching church!
I give thanks to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit that He did not give up on me – a sinner saved by grace – not a man, nor a church, nor a tradition, nor a doctrine, nor works – but by faith and trust in Jesus the Christ – alone! Nothing more, nothing less.
I pray that the blinders of this man – and you – will be removed so accept the Free Gift of salvation through and by Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-9

    • Name tell that to God and see how far you get. God gives the right to Faith matters to all mankind. The US Constitution guarantees that right to Americans.
God and the US Constitution both grant you the right to be the atheist you are.
God and the Founders have been nice to you haven’t they. Be thankful.

      • It is my understanding that our rights come from God not from the constitution so when some attempt to take away our rights they are dealing with God not the constitution. My feeling is that God inspired righteous leaders who spent much time, effort, and prayer to come up with our constitution making it a living document not a living one. Following the constitution is very important to all of us. Judges need to follow the constitution and not legislate from the bench.

  41. Hey pope, you are NOT a Christian, but the exact opposite. Take your sorry Satin loving ass back to your shithole of a country that you crawled out of.

      • Fr Tom Martin- Nope and proud if it! Neither are those evangelicals who voted for 45! He cheated on 3 wives and had sex and paid off multiple adult film “stars” and they make excuses for him.

        • I believe God put Trump in office, as He did those before President Trump. Only God sees the Bigger Picture. The only sinless man who ever lived was Jesus. David wasn’t sinless, neither was Paul, nor many other prophets in the Bible. Remember God used the enemies of Israel – His chosen nation & people – against them to bring their focus back on Him.

We are reminded and should take note when we read “Our ways are not His ways.”
God alone is in control of ALL things great and small.

    • Your comments are not those of a Christian. You show no love and compassion for those who have a different point of view. I should remind you that hatred is not a Christian and conflicts with Jesus’s teachings.

      • Roman – People in glass houses should not throw stones. Read the comments on this page and see the hate that pours out of these so-called Christians. But you haven’t said a word to them! Interesting. I probably wouldn’t either since the are all FAKE Christians.

        • Diane: I am not responsible for comments of others. I always condemn hate from whatever quarter. I focused on the individuals who made some of the mos egregious comments and factual errors. If we are true Christians – we need to show, love, compassion, forgiveness and understanding to one another. I find respect sorely lacking – and this is very un-Christian.

  42. I think an abortion is equal to murder. Therefore the pope and abortion doctors believe murder is ok. So why not have executions to rid mother earth of part of its vile scum?

    • Sorry, you are incorrect. The Catholic Church strongly condemns abortion. It stands for sacredness of life from conception to natural death.

      • I agree. That’s why I accuse the Pope of betraying the 5th Commandment for not speaking up when Ireland lifted the ban on abortion.

        • The Catholic Church in Ireland opposed the lifting of the ban on abortion. The Pope, for tactical reasons, let the Church in Ireland – take the lead in fighting the pro-abortion movement, so that it would not appear that he was interfering in domestic politics.

          • Yes, the Church is a human institution – and often members, including the clergy, do not practice what they preach. In my Catholic Church, pro-life marches are sponsored and organized. Nevertheless, the official message of the Church is that abortion is a grave sin. It also stresses issues of social compassion, given the message of Jesus’s teachings in the 8 Beatitudes. As to Catholic politicians voting against the teachings of the Church, the Church leaves the matter to their conscience and to God’s judgement. The US and other Western societies are secular societies – so the Church does not want to come across as imposing its views and not-respecting the teachings of other denominations and religions. Yet, the message is clear – and despite the human failings of many Catholics, clergy and even bishops.
And, please do not refer to “minions of Satan” regarding the people with whom you disagree. Jesus said love your neighbour and even love your enemies. In political discourse, it is necessary to be restraint and try to work with everyone – even those that one disagrees. If not, what is the alternative -Civil War? And Civil War is contrary to Jesus’s teachings of love, compassion and peace.

          • And what are these “tactical” reasons?!
The pope let the church in Ireland “take the lead in fighting the pro-abortion movement, so that it would not appear that he was interfering in domestic politics.”

What!!! I thought your pope was the leader – the head of the Roman Catholic Church! How is it that he actively interfers in the politics of the USA and gets a pass on Ireland?

It is obvious you are drunk from the kool aid

      • No sorry Roman, when was the last time you heard a bishop have a PRO-LIFE donation taken? You have not because American bishops and cardinals have become Judas’ for money. They have sold out the most vulnerable members in the body of Christ, the AMERICAN UNBORN MURDERED FOR PROFIT. Meanwhile, these minions of Satan all ran down to the border and whined about the “poor ILLEGAL CHILDREN CROSSING OUR BORDER.” Yes, do your investigation and see how many $Millions the Bishops receive for their phony social/justice warrior programs instead of teaching of heaven and hell. A place they all will know soon. Then consider why the bishops and cardinals are DEAD SILENT when it comes to denouncing abortion and SPECIFICALLY PLANNED PARENTHOOD. The reason is that Planned Parenthood is a MAJOR DONOR for the Godless, perverted, Party of Death Democrats. So while the Catholic Church, the church I love stands on say Canon 915: Discipline regarding the denial of Holy Communion to obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin, show me how this is followed. This Law instructs NO EUCHARIST to say a Catholic politician who votes in FAVOR of abortion. How many times is this done? It sure as hell does not happen here in NY where Cardinal Dolan runs the Homo-Mafia. As a personal observation, I would say this Law should logically follow to people who ENABLE the politician’s MURDER of the unborn by voting thus placing him/her into office. So Roman, what the Roman Catholic Church stands for at the heart IS NOT what is being practiced by the bishops, cardinals, certain popes and yes too many priests.

        • Greystone: I have not been insulting – and would expect same treatment from you. The Pope often prefers the local Catholic Church to take the lead in fighting issues that are restricted to the particular country. People often resent outsiders – non-citizens to tell them how to vote. The Pope’s statements are of a general universal nature – he does not tell people how to vote in US elections. So, analyze his words carefully before jumping to erroneous conclusions.

    • I think you are correct this church used Latin in their sermons for years how many people knew what they were saying if we continue to allow murders live we are crazy. the pope is not God

      • and the Bibles were chained to the pulpit, unavailable to the multitude even though the masses were unable to read because they had not been taught to read.

      • @Fr Tom Martin: From what I have been reading in these comments: The Pope did not directly say that he favored abortion. However – neither did he speak out against it!

  43. .” The Bible states in the Old Testament in 3 places that those who take a life should loose theirs. (Gen. 9;6; Ex. 21:12 and Deut 19: 11-13. So Pope Francis thinks he knows better than God?

        • Sorry that you have Trump disease. Somehow we are talking about the Pope and your liberal hatred shines through. The Swamp and Media are against 45 so I am for him. When he is through in 2020 America will be God fearing and great again.

        • Stop following the lib/progressive manual. Learn to think for yourself Diane. What ever lies or mistakes President Trump may have committed are nothing when compared to Clinton’s and Obama’s.
If you’d take the time to look around and see the GOOD work The president has done thus far,on his own. No help from the
Dirty government that surrounds him. You’d already know you were wrong.

        • You posted the wrong number Diane. The correct number is 44 even though that imposter never qualified for the Presidency. Liberals pick up on facts about #44 then reword it all inserting the name “Trump” replacing the name of the imposter who was born in what is known today as Kenya.

    • yes it does and it also says the government(s) have the right to execute when capital punishment is due, Genesis 9:6; Romans 13:1-7)

  44. I’m NOT CATHOLIC and very proud to say that. This Pope is of course just another
human being. He is not God and somehow he thinks he is. Most catholics that I know
abhor what he is and say he is ruined the Catholic Church. After all…they are
all HUMANS AND NOT God and have a very hard time even thinking of Jesus as their
Savior. The worship of Mary sets them off as she was only an INSTRUMENT OF GOD…
HER SON IS WHO THEY SHOULD BE WORSHIPING ALSO AS MOST PROTESTANTS DO. We feel sorry
for Catholics with a leader such as this who leans toward OBAMA WHO IS ONE OF THE
BIGGEST SINNERS THE WORLD HAS KNOWN.

    • Thanks for your comments. Yes, the Pope is a human being – but according to Catholics, he has the apostolic succession – and is a successor to St. Peter in an unbroken line of succession [which Protestant denominations can not claim]. In the Bible, it is written that Jesus gave the Power of the Keys to St. Peter and said “what you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and what you unbind on earth will be unbound in Heaven”. So, the Pope’s statements deserve to be listened to and respected [and most Catholics that I know do respect the Pope and support his values and teachings]. As to the Mary, according to Catholic Theology she is the Second Eve – who through her willingness, as a Virgin, to have Jesus, reversed the original sin of Eve. She become the Mother of God and is the human being closest to Jesus, the Second Person in the Holy Trinity. She in not God – but is the most venerated human and holds a special place with God. She is thus the best intercessor for people to Jesus.
We are all sinners – and “who has not sinned, let him cast the first stone”. You may regard Obama to be a sinner – but Trump has also sinned [and has clearly committed sexual sins,]. You may want to argue that Obama has sinned more – but others may disagree with you. However, I prefer to leave that matter in God’s hands and let God be the One who judges people’s sins and decides on the appropriate punishment and forgiveness for sins.

      • Yes, all of us is a sinner; but when-you repent and ask Jesus to forgive you, that you really meant it in your hearts he will wash your sins away with his blood and he will erase sin and not to sin no more…

        • Yes, I fully agree with you. God is truly loving and forgiving. Our sins are washed away – if we repent sincerely and are determined not to sin again. We need to fully accept Jesus’s message of love, compassion and forgiveness. We may not always, or even rarely, agree with some people, but we should never forget Jesus’s message of universal love, compassion and forgiveness, in all that we do.

          • Roman. Then why do Catholics sacrifice Jesus with every mass? Jesus paid the debt for All who trust in Him, once and for all. He, himself, from the cross said “It is finished” The debt is paid in FULL. Nothing more is needed. This was/is the measure of His love for all who trust and believe in Him.
At the same time we must remember, however, that God is a just God and He must punish sin. This is why God sacrificed Jesus on His altar – a cross – because He loves us so very much that not one, not even one should perish. How hard is it for you to understand and accept this?

      • Can you point me to where it said that Mary agreed to be the Mother of Jesus? She was told by the Angle what was going to happen, not asked if she would agree. Can you also please show me where, in the Bible, that Mary reversed Eve’s original sin. This is completely astonishing.
Jesus gave us the example of how to pray with the Lord’s Prayer, where it starts with “Our Father” not our Mary. Jesus further said that “No one comes unto the Father but through me.” John 14:6 Mary found favor with God but was not elevated to God.

        • H ene – Mary consented to Angel Gabriel to be Jesus’ Mother – and Jesus is God [ a member of the Trinity]. Heme, she is Mother of God. I mentioned that in Catholic theological studies, Mary is regarded as the Second Eve. As Eve contributed to the original sin, Mary consented to having Jesus in order to contribute to the salvation of humankind. Mary is not God – but she is closest human to God – and hence she is venerated and often regarded as the best intercessor for people to God. Jesus also thought us the Beatitudes and therefore the need to have love and compassion for the less fortunate. If Jesus did not think that that was important, he would not have stressed in his message love, compassion and forgiveness.

      • Roman, you are right according to RCC,but Peter never got to Rome.It was
Simon (the Peter) the Magician that went to Rome. The Emperor Constantine
forced all Christians to obey the state church and to observe Sunday.
The name (Roman) in Greek and Hebrew means 666 and Sunday is the Mark
of the BEAST. Constantine forced that mark on all Humans ever since.

    • The Bible said we are all sinners. Some of us sin more than others. God knows I’ve done things I’m not proud of. But Jesus died for our sins. Not Mary. She was the one whom bore our Lord in her womb and raised him to manhood. After that, she stepped out of the picture. Jesus never said to believe on his mother. Only Him.

      • No – Mary was not God – but she had and has a special connection with Jesus. Catholics venerate her as she is so close to Jesus – the Mother of Jesus who is God. Therefore, Catholics regard Mary as the perfect intercessor to Jesus – as He is not able to refuse her just pleadings [as was shown in the wedding at Cana when she pleaded with Him to help the wedding host have more wine, even though Jesus’ time had not yet come to do his Ministry].

        • “ROMAN” What kind christian you are if you can not tel who is Jesus Christ and who is a God? Let me tell teach one thing about Christianity, Jesus Christ is our Savior – Sun of Mary:founder of the Christian religion, regarded by Christian as the son of the God and Messiah. Look in the DICTIONARY for simple reason we are all Gods children and God is our father for everything hi created.

          • Christianity is NOT a religion but Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ, built on His life, death and resurrection from the dead.

          • All of us are God’s children by creation. Those of us who are Christians (followers or disciples of Jesus) are His children by ADOPTION. We don’t deserve salvation but through God’s mercy and grace, He has given us salvation, His doings not because of our deeds (our deeds are evil). God’s grace and infinite mercy allows us to come back to God and live with Him forever and forever. One of my favorite questions: How long is forever? Think about it.

          • To Mrky: I am amazed how you misread my statement. I never said Mary was God. She is venerated because she is the closest human to Jesus.
To johnjohn: As regarding social justice issues – I like to point out Jesus’s message in the 8 Beatitudes. Why would He have said that, if good works are not important?

        • I was a Catholic for many years. I eventually left this insanely “run” religion when they became nothing but Globalist, Communist, Fascist, Elitist, pedophilic, pro-kill abortionists.

          • Lazer: Of course the Pope is a Globalist. The Catholic Church believes that everyone – wherever they life may be saved – not just Americans. Your statement about the Catholic Church is full of hatred, false charges – and completely in conflict with Jesus’ teaching of lov, compassion and forgiveness.

        • Roman. Show me ANY place in the Bible where Mary is mentioned after Acts 2:14? Notice, even in your translation of the Bible, that Mary was devoting …. along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus and with His brothers.” Notice again Mary was praying along with the other women. She was not being prayed to or asked to pray for them. Those who are saved have no need for an intercessor. Believers can speak directly to Jesus/God.
Mary was a blessing to mankind. She bore God in the flesh – hence John 1:14. There was no other way – that we would understand – for God to take on human form (flesh). This was Mary’s calling. A tool for God’s purpose/plan. I give thanks to God, not for Mary, but for Jesus.

          • Greystone: Again, I would like to state that Mary is not God – and Catholics do not pray to her – only venerate her and ask for her intercession. The idea is that sine Mary is human she understands us – and appeals to God to render the favors that we request. It is not necessary to pray to Mary for her intercession – one can pray directly to God. However, may Catholics prefer to pray for her intercession, as they believe Jesus finds it most difficult to deny His Blessed Mother’s requests.

    • Once again to someone who does not know what he Id talking about I do not worship Mary I honor Mary. I wish we would stop the practices where we pay honor to Mary in public to stop confusing people like you Pope Francis has made lots of choices I like and some I do not. Yes, he US just a man

Donald Trump IS just a man and he makes decisions that effect my life. Some good some not so good.

I do nit believe the majority if Catholics dislike the Pope they say what you want to hear. If they do not Luke the Pope there are other denomination

  45. Remember, Jesus said forgive not only 7 times but 70 X 7. In other words, there is a need to show forgiveness and compassion. Pope Francis is interpreting Jesus’ instructions in the Bible to prohibit capital punishment. I wish to also point out that many “Christian fundamentalists” selectively interpret the Bible to suit their own interests or agendas – and forget Jesus’ message of universal love, compassion, forgiveness and caring for the less fortunate in society.

    • That statement of Jesus’s was related to him being asked by ? how many times should I forgive my brother. The offense was not for mass or premeditated murder especially pertaining to children.”Wow to those who harm the children was Jesus’s comment”.
The removal of the death penalty will and has removed any possibility of a potential murderer from following through with the crime because of his desire to live. To them there’s is precious. Otherwise why would they hire Lawyer’s to get them off death row, many times?

      • Richard Magnano. Thank you for the reply. The issue of death penalty is subject to considerable discussion. Interestingly, the US states that have abolished the death penalty do not have higher murder rates than those who still impose the death penalty. In addition, there is the ever present risk that the murderer was mentally insane at the time he committed the murder. Another interesting fact, that in the UK they abolished the death penalty on the grounds that there is always, albeit small risk, of miscarriage of justice and an innocent man could be wrongly executed.
Hence, the discussion regarding the death penalty is quite controversial – and all points of view, I believe, deserve respect. I just resent the fact that the article seemed to show no respect to Pope Francis’ point of view.

  46. It is up to the Catholics to excommunicate him, or not. He will keep changing the traditional views that will harm the family unit. I’m not a Catholic but I think he needs to go. Don’t wait too long if you think he is not adhering to the Catholic faith.

By the way. the death penalty option is for the worst of the worst. Indeed we all have heard horrible crimes that really deserve this option.

No one is above the law.

      • Fr Tom Martin, (wow! Your name is ever so close to mine!!) Are you a Cardinal in the Catholic Church? Don’t worry, I am Southern Baptist and always I am interested in what the Pope has to say. Most of the time I think he represents the Christian faith (Catholic) rather well. This time I think he failed in this.

      • What gives you the right to declare only Catholics shall decide about the pope? How has that worked out for you with all your pedophile priests? You grant or sell absolution to those important to the Catholic Church while condemning the world. Hypocrites

  47. The penalty of death is reserved for those whose harden their hearts and reject God, His goodness, and His mercy and commit sins worthy of death. Is man greater than God ? I think not. Pope Francis is a man, therefore he is fallible, and not infallible as the Catholic Church teachers. God’s Word states: “Cursed is he who puts his trust in man, and not in God.” Should we trust Pope Francis or trust God? The answer is clear, only God is perfect and infallible and worthy of all worship and praise. God’s Word is eternal and is the judge of all things. If all men were obedient to God, and followed his instruction as outlined by His Word, evil would diminish and there would be peace on earth and good will towards all men. But man is sinful and rebellious, and has set the course of mankind towards death and destruction by everlasting fire by intentionally violating the laws of nature and God. It matters little what anyone else thinks, God’s Word is absolute and does not change. People who lean to their own understanding and attempt to change God’s Word do so at the peril of their own souls. At the very end of the Bible in the Book of Revelation a warning is written: If anyone takes away from the word of the book of this prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life… If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. There is good reason for this, and it is plain and simple: God will not tolerate anyone who attempts to change or pervert His Word for His intent is to bring all men to salvation through his Holy Word. Let us pray for Pope Francis and his salvation, that God will open his understanding of His Word and His will, that he may truly become a righteous ambassador of Jesus Christ and His church.

  48. I am for the death penalty. I also don’t believe that if you are found guilty of murder and other heinous crimes, you should get numerous appeals. If cost taxpayers Millions of dollars to support the murderer etc. I’m the days of the old west there were no on going appeals for many many years. It’s time to stop being the all the ongoing appeals.

    • Thank God I do not live in old EEST. So what If we kill 24 or so innocent people each year if it saved tsx payers money. While at it lets kill those babies we have to pay to educate

  49. Why is it that the people who “COMMIT MURDER” believe in the death penalty.
This holds very true in “PLANNED PARENTHOOD” clinics where a baby with a beating heart has their life snuffed out. A “BEATING HEART” CONTAINS LIFE, in or out of the womb.
If a beating heart is not life, we are all the walking dead.

  50. Unfortunately Pope Francis is leaning too far left and is not adhering to the Catholic faith. Why hasn’t he taken a stand on the millions of abortions that are taking place. Killing of babies is more important that killing of murderers on death row. He needs to follow the laws of the church and stay out of politics. He’s not my idea of a Pope.

    • That guy rewrites the laws of God to swing with the times. God said in the Bible that He changes not. Also the Bible says to not add to or take away from the Book.

      • The Bible is a living document. Do we still want slavery. Do we still want women owned by men like property. The Bible had changed in all denomination but you only notice it when you do not Like the change You get haircuts I bet

        • I think all of those things would be great. Actually, if I could go back in time and had any political influence I would do everything I could to prevent the import of slaves into America. Look at the mess we’ve caused for ourselves with their descendants. I would have rather picked the cotton myself.
