Rand Paul Just Proved that Anthony Fauci Was Running the CIA the Whole Time

Joe Biden pardoned Anthony Fauci on his second-to-last day in office.

Now we know why.

Because Rand Paul just dropped a document that shows Fauci didn't just lie to Congress – he spent two decades embedded inside the U.S. intelligence community, shaping what the CIA believed about bioweapons, lab leaks, and COVID origins.

Fauci Had Intel Community Access Before COVID Ever Existed

This goes back to 2003.

Paul's timeline shows that in August of that year, Fauci formally reviewed a National Intelligence Council paper on SARS implications for the United States and was thanked by name when it was published.

Three months later, the CIA sent him a classified report titled "The Darker Bioweapons Future" – a warning that advances in biotechnology could enable the creation of far more dangerous engineered pathogens.

That's November 2003.

COVID didn't exist for another 17 years.

In September 2007, Fauci was invited by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to sit on a panel reviewing the Pentagon's chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense program.

Bioweapons strategy wasn't Fauci's lane.

He built himself a lane anyway.

When COVID Hit, He Used Every Connection He Had

On January 31, 2020, a scientist named Kristian Andersen privately alerted Fauci that SARS-CoV-2's furin cleavage site – a feature that makes the virus dramatically more infectious in humans – looked engineered.

Fauci's private reaction: if those features are real, report it to the FBI and MI5.

His public reaction: six weeks later, the "Proximal Origin" paper landed in Nature Medicine, concluding the virus was "not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus."

The paper explicitly thanked Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins for their "advice and leadership."

One of its co-authors later received a $9 million grant from Fauci's own agency after changing his position from lab leak to natural origin.

That is not peer review.

That is a feedback loop with a price tag.

He Ran the Same Play on the Intelligence Community

When Biden ordered a 90-day Intelligence Community assessment of COVID origins in May 2021, Fauci didn't stay on the sidelines.

He received multiple classified briefings.

He attended a highly compartmented Deputies Committee meeting requiring special clearances.

He was given a sensitive read file he couldn't remove from the secure facility.

And then – this is the key detail – he forwarded the NSC a new preprint by the same Proximal Origin authors, called them "highly qualified virologists," and asked that their work be shared with the intelligence community.

He was feeding the CIA the same paper he helped create.

CIA whistleblower James Erdman III put it plainly when he testified under oath before Paul's committee last month: Fauci's access had "significantly influenced" the intelligence community's COVID assessment by "injecting himself into the IC."

Erdman testified that CIA scientific analysts concluded multiple times between 2021 and 2023 that a lab leak was the most likely origin of COVID-19 – and that those conclusions were buried before they could shape the official report or reach Congress.

The Biden administration waited until after the 2024 election to release any assessment at all – not because of new intelligence, Paul said, but so officials could "walk out the door claiming there was nothing left to find."

Biden Signed the Pardon Before the Documents Came Out

Biden didn't pardon Fauci for jaywalking.

He signed it on January 19, 2025 – his second-to-last day in office – covering unspecified crimes dating back to January 1, 2014.

You don't sign a preemptive pardon for a man who did nothing wrong.

You sign it because you know what's coming.

What's coming is a transcribed interview with Rand Paul's committee later this month – a follow-up to the CIA whistleblower hearing that Democrats boycotted entirely.

Not a single Senate Democrat showed up to hear testimony about whether the deadliest pandemic in a century started in a Chinese lab connected to U.S. government funding.

Think about that.

Seven million people died worldwide.

Democrats couldn't find the hearing room.

Paul said it best at the May hearing: "Government secrecy cannot become government impunity."

Anthony Fauci spent 20 years cultivating a shadow network inside the U.S. intelligence community, used it to bury the lab leak, and got pardoned before the evidence came out.

The documents are out now.

The only thing missing is accountability.
