President Trump took a major step toward righting the injustices of Robert Mueller’s rigged witch hunt by commuting Roger Stone’s prison sentence.
The Washington, D.C. swamp erupted in outrage.
And now Robert Mueller made this public confession that Donald Trump never saw coming.
An op-ed appeared in The Washington Post under Robert Mueller’s name the day after President Trump commuted Stone’s sentence.
Given Mueller’s confused and painful performance before Congress, critics suspected that someone else wrote the op-ed and slapped Mueller’s name on it.
Mueller defended his witch hunt against President Trump by painting a misleading picture of Roger Stone as an agent of espionage that communicated with Russian intelligence.
“One of our cases involved Stone, an official on the campaign until mid-2015 and a supporter of the campaign throughout 2016. Stone became a central figure in our investigation for two key reasons: He communicated in 2016 with individuals known to us to be Russian intelligence officers, and he claimed advance knowledge of WikiLeaks’ release of emails stolen by those Russian intelligence officers,” the op-ed Mueller allegedly wrote claimed.
The op-ed is referring to Twitter direct messages between Roger Stone and the hacker Guccifer 2.0, which Mueller alleged was actually a front for Russian intelligence.
Stone had no idea about this at the time and the messages were benign with Guccifer asking Stone to look at a turnout memo prepared by the Democrats and Stone responding that it was nothing special.
But after all of that, Mueller – or whoever wrote the op-ed – admitted what everyone knew to be true: that his investigation never turned up any evidence anyone associated with the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians.
“We also identified numerous links between the Russian government and Trump campaign personnel — Stone among them. We did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government in its activities,” the op-ed author admitted.
