Ron DeSantis shut down Hillary Clinton with one truth about Clarence Thomas

Americans got a preview of what a potential Ron DeSantis-Hillary Clinton 2024 matchup would look like.

The early returns show it’s not looking good for Hillary and the Democrats.

And that’s because Ron DeSantis shut down Hillary Clinton with one truth about Clarence Thomas.

Hillary Clinton knows Joe Biden is unlikely to run for re-election due to his advanced age, cognitive decline, and massive unpopularity.

Clinton is trying to establish herself as the leading Democrat supporting abortion-on-demand.

In an interview with CBS’s Gayle King, Clinton spewed a firehose of falsehoods about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

First, Clinton used a racist stereotype to smear Thomas as an “angry black man” by falsely claiming she knew him when the two were at Yale Law School in the early 1970s.

“Well, he may be on his own, but he’s signaling, as he often did, you know, people — I went to law school with him. He’s been a person of grievance for as long as I’ve known him. Resentment, grievance, anger. And he has signaled in the past to lower courts, to state legislatures, to find cases, pass laws, get them up. I may not win the first or second or the third time, but we’re going to keep at it,” Clinton declared.

Clinton graduated a year before Thomas and the two likely never crossed paths.

And in the 1970s, Thomas was still in the midst of his ideological journey from leftist to conservative.

Clinton then lied about the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, baselessly claiming that ending abortion-on-demand would kill women.

“To the people he is speaking to, which is the, you know, right-wing, very conservative judges and justices and state legislatures. And the thing that is well, there’s so many things about it that are deeply distressing. But women are going to die, Gayle. Women will die,” Clinton added.

Ron DeSantis’ Deputy Press Secretary Bryan Griffin took Clinton to task for these lies.

Griffin relayed a story about how after she passed the Washington, D.C. bar exam, he saw Justice Thomas and asked if he would swear him in as a lawyer.

“Offensive, disgusting, and false commentary from @HillaryClinton about Clarence Thomas. I’d like to directly rebut this,” Griffin wrote on social media. “After I passed the bar, I stopped CT in a lobby in D.C. and asked him if he would do me the honor of swearing me in as a lawyer (2015).”

Justice Thomas not only swore in Griffin, but also took the time to make him feel like he was a close friend.

Griffin blasted Clinton for lying about Justice Thomas for political gain.

“To lie about the man because you do not agree with him is wrong, and people can plainly see it as a desperate attack for cheap likes. CT is neither angry nor resentful, and this is abundantly clear to anyone who has interacted with him in person,” Griffin added.

If DeSantis and Clinton square off in 2024 – a distinct possibility – this exchange is a preview of how DeSantis and his team will dismantle Clinton on the campaign trail.
