Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Brett Kavanaugh are often on opposite sides of major rulings.
Ginsburg is the leader of the court’s liberal bloc and Kavanaugh’s confirmation was thought to cement a five-member conservative majority.
And now Ruth Bader Ginsburg just said something shocking about Brett Kavanaugh.
Ginsburg recently spoke at Georgetown University Law’s Supreme Court Institute where she praised Kavanaugh’s decision to hire a staff of all-female law clerks.
Kavanaugh made this decision after liberals used fake news and lies about him sexually assaulting women at high school and college parties to try and derail his confirmation.
The Daily Caller reports:
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg praised Justice Brett Kavanaugh in a panel Tuesday at Georgetown Law’s Supreme Court Institute for making history by appointing an “entire staff” of females.
The panel included Justice Ginsburg and two of her former law clerks, both female, and discussed her focus on gender equality along with her life and work.
“There is a very important first on the Supreme Court this term and it’s thanks to our new justice, Justice Kavanaugh, whose entire staff, they’re all women, all of his law clerks are women … it’s the first time in the history of the United States that there have been more women clerking than men,” Ginsburg said during the panel.
Ginsburg stated later in the panel that “we are getting rid of the overtly explicit classification that women can’t do this or can’t do that. Almost all of those are gone.”
Ginsburg had previously warned liberals that Justice Kennedy’s retirement and subsequent replacement by Kavanaugh would be the most consequential move of her lifetime.
Kennedy was a moderate Republican Justice and Kavanaugh is squarely to his right.
So Trump supporters can expect this will be the last praise Ginsburg throws Kavanaugh’s way.
