Sean Hannity put jaws on the ground with this ultimatum for the Republican Party

Republicans are looking to regroup and move forward after Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial.

But if the establishment thought they could purge Donald Trump and his supporters from the GOP, they got some bad news.

And they found that out the hard way as Sean Hannity put jaws on the ground with this ultimatum for the Republican Party.

Senate Republican leadership wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

The top two Republicans in the Senate – Mitch McConnell and John Thune – voted to acquit Trump but trashed him in their comments afterwards.

Thune claimed he would be open to censuring Trump, and McConnell essentially endorsed the Biden Justice Department bringing criminal charges against Donald Trump.

On the first broadcast of his Fox News show following the impeachment trial, Sean Hannity tore into McConnell and Thune as living in an alternate reality from their voters.

Hannity wanted to know why McConnell and Thune were silent for four years as Democrats staged a coup against President Trump and routinely incited violence.

This was a complete failure of leadership in Hannity’s opinion and led him to demand Senate Republicans replace McConnell and Thune with leaders who would actually represent the views of the Republican conference in the Senate and the party writ large.

“Where was John Thune and Mitch McConnell fighting against the biggest abuse of power corruption scandal in our history with Operation Crossfire Hurricane? They were missing in action. Where’s the sanctimonious Mitch McConnell, John Thune, demanding that Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters — when is he going to give a speech on the Senate floor and hold those Democrats accountable for their incitement of insurrection and their insurrection-like language? The time is now coming for new leadership in the U.S. Senate,” Hannity stated.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed Mitch McConnell threw gas on this fire stating his intention to defeat candidates backed by Donald Trump in Senate primaries next year.

Instead of accepting the fact that Donald Trump is the most popular Republican in the Party and trying to make peace with supporters and unify ahead of 2022, McConnell is still fighting on behalf of the Republican establishment to purge the former President and his voters.

But Sean Hannity is warning McConnell that he is inviting a grassroots rebellion that could cost him his job.
