Nobody in Washington, DC talks like Senator John Kennedy.
But John Kennedy just pointed his sharp tongue directly at his own party.
And Senator John Kennedy made this stunning announcement about running for President.
Kennedy Drops the G-Word on National Television
John Kennedy has built a decade-long reputation in the Senate for saying exactly what he thinks in a way no political consultant would ever approve.
Sunday was no different.
"If a bunch of goobers run, and I think they're goobers, and one of the goobers might win, and I think I could do a better job, I would consider running," Kennedy told host Kristen Welker.

He threw in a reference to the old Judds song "Why Not Me" for good measure – and then said he hasn't made a decision.
Kennedy is 74 years old, currently serving his second Senate term, and up for reelection in 2028.
His primary plan is still to seek that Senate seat.
However, he said that depends entirely on who else decides to enter the Republican presidential field.
That's a door left wide open with the lights on.
The Man Who Goes After Trump When Nobody Else Will
What makes Kennedy genuinely different is that he says the quiet parts out loud – even when the quiet part is about the president.
Trump publicly released Senator Tom Cotton's personal cellphone number to punish him for blocking the Sunshine Protection Act, the bill that would make daylight saving time permanent.
Kennedy was asked about it Sunday and didn't flinch.
"Every now and then, there are disputes in Congress that have existential significance for the future of Western civilization," Kennedy said. "Daylight Savings Time is not one of them."
He called Cotton "a rock star senator."
Then he went further.
"The president, as we know, can be sometimes – he exists loudly," Kennedy said. "He can be tempestuous. He can go from zero to a-hole in about three seconds."
"I don't think he should have given out Tom's cellphone number," he added.
This is the same senator who put Kristi Noem on the hot seat with pointed questions right before she was fired as Homeland Security secretary.
Kennedy has a habit of saying what everyone in the room is thinking and nobody else will say – and that habit just followed him onto Meet the Press.
Why the GOP Establishment Is Not Going to Love This
Here's what nobody in Washington, DC wants to say out loud.
Republican voters are exhausted by polished stuffed suits.
They're exhausted by consultants, focus groups and senators who say nothing for forty-five minutes and somehow make it sound worse coming out than going in.
John Kennedy walks into a room and says "goober" on national television – and every conservative in America over the age of sixty nods and says "that's my guy."
That's not a gimmick.
That's a political skill that can't be taught, and the establishment doesn't have an answer for it.
Donors have been approaching Kennedy about a presidential run for months.
He already made the pilgrimage to New Hampshire – the "Politics and Eggs" circuit at Saint Anselm College – earlier this year.
That's not something you do because you're focused exclusively on a Senate race.
Kennedy switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party in 2007.
He knows exactly why working-class voters walked away from the Left because he walked away from it, too.
JD Vance and Marco Rubio are going to raise mountains of money and lock up every endorsement that matters inside the Beltway.
And John Kennedy is going to stand on a debate stage in Iowa and say something that makes seventeen million people forward the clip to their kids.
The GOP establishment is praying the field stays clean and manageable.
John Kennedy just called it full of goobers.
