The January 6 Committee handed Donald Trump one document that will have you seeing red

Democrats launched their major October surprise.

It revolved around January 6.

And the January 6 Committee handed Donald Trump one document that will have you seeing red.

The January 6 Committee issued a subpoena to Donald Trump just two weeks before the Midterm elections in a Hail Mary attempt to try and amplify the preposterous narrative that January 6 is the central issue of the campaign.

In a letter accompanying the subpoena, Cheney and Thompson pushed a deranged conspiracy theory that Donald Trump instigated an insurrection and devised a nationwide criminal plot to overturn the 2020 election.

“As demonstrated in our hearings, we have assembled overwhelming evidence, including from dozens of your former appointees and staff, that you personally orchestrated and oversaw a multi-part effort to overturn the 2020 Presidential election and to obstruct the peaceful transition of power,” the letter stated.

“You were at the center of the first and only effort by any U.S. President to overturn an election and obstruct the peaceful transition of power, ultimately culminating in a bloody attack on our own Capitol and on the Congress itself,” Thompson and Cheney continued.

Cheney and Thompson then tried to adopt a false posture of solemn duty about subpoenaing Trump.

“We recognize that a subpoena to a former President is a significant and historic action,” Cheney and Thompson stated.

Cheney and Thompson know Trump will never testify.

The overwhelming likelihood is that Republicans will win the House of Representatives.

Any legal battle over Trump contesting the Senate – which he will fight in court – will stretch long past the time the new Republican majority takes power.

And at that point, the Republicans will shutter the January 6 Committee and the subpoena will go away, thus rendering the issue moot.

But Cheney and Thompson know that.

Their goal with this subpoena is nothing more than a political stunt.

In the final weeks of the campaign, the voter’s attention shifted towards issues that favor the Republicans, such as inflation, crime, the economy, and illegal immigration.

Democrats don’t have any record to run on with those issues, so they want to scare Americans about Donald Trump and January 6.

The January 6 Committee’s subpoena was a last-ditch effort to play to the media’s anti-Trump bias and feed their desire to keep his name in the headlines.
