The Supreme Court just handed Joe Biden a win that will surprise you

Donald Trump appointing three conservatives to the Supreme Court was supposed to change everything.

It did. But not in the way anyone expected.

And because of this, the Supreme Court just handed Joe Biden a win that will surprise you.

When Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Democrats fumed and threatened to pack the Supreme Court in retaliation.

The Court has had an interesting response.

Many Court observers believe the recent spate of unanimous Supreme Court verdicts is the Justices sending a message to the Left that the Supreme Court functions just fine and to drop threats to pack the Court.

The latest 9-0 verdict – written by left-wing justice Elena Kagan – centered on the Court rejecting amnesty for illegal aliens covered under Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Joe Biden’s administration infuriated allies by defending a Trump-era policy of blocking illegal aliens from obtaining green cards.

The Associated Press reports:

A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that thousands of people living in the U.S. for humanitarian reasons are ineligible to apply to become permanent residents.

Justice Elena Kagan wrote for the court that federal immigration law prohibits people who entered the country illegally and now have Temporary Protected Status from seeking “green cards” to remain in the country permanently.

The designation applies to people who come from countries ravaged by war or disaster. It protects them from deportation and allows them to work legally. There are 400,000 people from 12 countries with TPS status.

Even liberals on the Supreme Court like Justice Stephen Breyer oppose Court-packing schemes.

Some suspect that the Supreme Court speaking as one in so many cases this term is their way of brushing back partisan critics on the Left who want to expand the Court so they’ll rubber stamp partisan outcomes.
