The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments about a pro-life law in Louisiana that regulates abortion clinics health standards.
Since abortion clinics only exist to terminate the lives of babies, these laws threaten to close them down.
At a rally before the court heard oral arguments Chuck Schumer menaced the Supreme Court with threats of physical violence by angry left-wing mobs.
“Over the last three years, women’s reproductive rights have come under attack in a way we haven’t seen in modern history. From Louisiana, to Missouri, to Texas, Republican legislatures are waging a war on women, all women, and they’re taking away fundamental rights. I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you, if you go forward with these awful decisions,” Schumer raged.
Schumer’s un-American comments led to Chief Justice John Roberts issuing a rare statement rebuking Schumer for threatening the physical safety of Supreme Court justices.
“Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous,” Roberts’ statement read. “All Members of the Court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.”
Schumer did not apologize for his words.
But if he was hoping his words would bully Brett Kavanaugh or Chief Justice Roberts into voting to allow abortion clinics to stay open despite the health and safety threats they pose to innocent women Schumer appears to be sorely mistaken.
