Jon Ossoff spent a Sunday rally in Atlanta spreading baseless innuendo about Natalie Harp.
The next day, CNN brought that smear straight into the Oval Office.
And Donald Trump made one CNN reporter regret using a teen hero to smear a cancer survivor.
What Ossoff Actually Said and What CNN Did With It
Natalie Harp survived bone cancer because Donald Trump signed the Right to Try Act into law.
She has dedicated her career since 2022 to the man who gave her a shot at life when the medical establishment was ready to send her home to die – following him with a portable printer, keeping him stocked with briefings, doing whatever the job demands with the loyalty of someone who knows firsthand what Trump's policies mean for real people.
Jon Ossoff took that story and tried to make it pornographic.
At a rally in Atlanta on Sunday, the Georgia senator told the crowd that Trump "doesn't want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar."
He knew exactly what he was implying.

For context: Harp was among the small group of aides who moved off the Qatar-gifted Air Force One to a different military aircraft during Trump's Turkey departure last month – because of an Iranian threat.
She was there because that's her job.
Ossoff later claimed he was just referencing Trump's aides in general – that specific name was purely coincidental.
Sure, Jon.
CNN's Kristen Holmes picked up the smear and carried it into the Oval Office the very next day – at an event honoring 16-year-old lifeguard Ryder Williams, who rescued a drowning 10-year-old boy off Santa Cruz in July.
Holmes asked Trump for his response to Ossoff's comments about Harp.
Trump called Ossoff "Pee-wee Herman" and moved on.
When Holmes later pressed him on North Korea, he was done.
"Quiet, quiet, quiet. You're very disrespectful," Trump told her. "You're a fake reporter and you report fake news."
The White House Fired Back Hard
The Rapid Response 47 account on X posted a clip of Holmes pushing the Harp question and called her "a disgraceful, humiliating embarrassment to her alleged profession."
The account added that Holmes used a hero lifeguard's Oval Office visit "as an opportunity to take a cheap shot about one of President Trump's staffers."
They weren't wrong.
Then the account went further – pointing out that Holmes' children would one day come across what she did in that room.

CNN issued a statement calling Holmes "one of the most respected and accomplished journalists covering the White House" and said the attacks were "inconsistent with the principles of a free press."
The network that spent years airing baseless Russia collusion speculation is now the guardian of journalistic principles.
CNN's Scott Jennings – one of their own commentators – torched Ossoff for the original smear, writing that it was "quite a message for the Democratic Party to send to young women working in politics."
Even people on the Left told Ossoff to stop.
This Is Who Democrats Are Now
Ossoff – a man who inherited his media business, who is running for re-election in a state Trump won – decided his best political move was to drag a cancer survivor's name through a rally crowd's cheers with a wink and a smirk.
Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna called it exactly what it was: "sexist and misogynistic."

Lee Zeldin called Harp "an incredibly hardworking, talented, principled, and loyal member of the Trump Administration."
Richard Grenell called Ossoff a fraud who never earned anything he has.
The so-called party of women just weaponized a woman's cancer survival story for applause at a campaign rally.
CNN's job was to report on that – not to carry it into the Oval Office during a ceremony for a teenage hero.
Holmes made a choice when she walked into that room.
Trump made one too – and it wasn't to pretend the question deserved a straight answer.
