This damning video should cost one top CNN star their job

CNN is in the middle of another implosion.

There is a mutiny inside the network.

And this damning video should cost one top CNN star their job.

For six years, former network President Jeff Zucker cultivated CNN’s image as the leader of the “resistance” to Donald Trump.

Critics contend Zucker made every hire and programming decision with the thought of how it would advance the cause of defeating Donald Trump.

The end result was a network packed with unhinged leftists who actually think Donald Trump is trying to turn America into 1930s Germany and thus must be defeated by any means necessary.

That’s why there was so much internal strife over Licht scheduling a town hall event with Donald Trump.

Trump dominated the event, refusing to accept the left-wing talking points Collins passed off as questions and winning over the crowd.

After the broadcast CNN employees – both on and off the record – could not wait to slam Licht’s decision to put Trump on the air.

“It was a complete disaster,” one anonymous CNN employee told POLITICO Playbook.

“It made it seem like CNN was endorsing that behavior,” the employee added, calling the Trump town hall, “Incredibly disappointing.”

CNN’s anti-Fox News activist and so-called “media reporter” Oliver Darcy slammed the decision for CNN to televise an interview with Trump.

“It’s hard to see how America was served by the spectacle of lies that aired on CNN Wednesday evening,” Darcy ranted. “And CNN aired it all. On and on it went. It felt like 2016 all over again. It was Trump’s unhinged social media feed brought to life on stage.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper went even farther saying viewers were justified in never wanting to watch CNN again.

The Hill media reporter and Fox News contributor Joe Concha said Licht should take this opportunity to fire Cooper and anyone else at CNN who thought their job was to lead the “resistance” to Trump as opposed to covering the news.

“If I’m Licht, I fire Anderson Cooper tomorrow. And Tapper. And everyone else who is attempting to drive a mutiny. CNN will never move remotely to the middle until getting rid of the current talent who clearly has zero motivation to avoid being activists for the Democratic Party,” Concha wrote on Twitter.

Licht defended the town hall on a call with CNN employees explaining to them that it wasn’t CNN’s job to only broadcast anti-Trump content.

CNN is a news organization and Donald Trump is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.

And CNN’s job is to ask candidates for office questions and report their answers back to the public.

“I am aware that there [have] been people with opinions slash backlash, and that is absolutely expected,” Licht told employees. “And I will say this as clearly as I possibly can: You do not have to like the former president’s answers, but you can’t say that we didn’t get them. Kaitlan pressed him again and again and made news — made a lot of news.”

After years of Jeff Zucker positioning CNN as the lead opposition to Donald Trump many CNN employees cannot handle that truth.
