Trey Gowdy announced his future plans and it wasn’t what anyone expected

Trey Gowdy has had a bulls-eye on his back since he was elected in the tea party of wave of 2010.

He made his name leading the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s conduct during and after the Benghazi terrorist attack.

His future has been the subject of much debate and he just answered the question in the most shocking way possible.

Gowdy announced he was retiring from Congress when his term was up in 2018.

He was reportedly sick of politics.

Breitbart reports:

“Another member of Congress announced on Wednesday their decision not to seek re-election this fall.

South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy said he will leave the House and return to the justice system.

Gowdy made the announcement on Twitter, saying he was “grateful for the opportunity to serve.”

“I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office,” Gowdy wrote. “Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system.”

“There is no perfect time to make this announcement, but with filing opening in six weeks, it is important to give the women and men in South Carolina who might be interested in serving ample time to reflect on the decision.”

Gowdy was one of the top targets of the left.

He fought to uncover the wrongdoings of the Deep State during the Russia investigation.

Gowdy played a critical role in shining a light on the fact that the FBI used the fake news Christopher Steele dossier to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

For this, the left subjected him to smears and ridicule.

He finally had enough and is walking away from Congress.
