Trey Gowdy discovered one fact about impeachment that made Chuck Schumer’s life miserable

The Senate is set to begin Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial next week.

But even before the trial begins all hell is breaking loose.

And Trey Gowdy discovered one fact about impeachment that made Chuck Schumer’s life miserable.

Former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy is taking his turn hosting the 7PM show on Fox News.

In his debut broadcast, Gowdy interviewed Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham about the state of play in the upcoming impeachment trial.

Some Democrats floated the idea of calling witnesses during the trial to give testimony about the events surrounding the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

Graham responded by telling a shocked Gowdy that if Democrats wanted witnesses Graham would support calling an endless parade of witnesses that will tie the Senate in knots for months.

“If the House managers want to use this as a political commercial against Donald Trump and Republicans, and they want to call witnesses now . . . this thing could go for weeks or months and that would be bad for the country. To my Democratic colleagues, if you vote to call one witness, none were called in the House, get ready for a long trial . . . If you open up that can of worms, we’ll want the FBI to come in and tell us how people actually pre-planned these attacks and what happened with the security footprint at the Capitol. You open up Pandora’s box if you call one witness, I hope we don’t call any,” Graham declared.

If the Senate is in an impeachment trial, it cannot take up any other business.

If Democrats want witnesses it will show the American people that their priority is punishing Donald Trump and not getting Americans back to work and moving beyond the pandemic.
