Trey Gowdy dropped one bombshell that Donald Trump never thought he’d hear

Donald Trump and his supporters were fuming about the Deep State prosecutors letting disgraced former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe walk free without any criminal charges.

They began to wonder if any of the officials in the FBI or Obama administration would be held accountable for the Russian collusion hoax.

And now Trey Gowdy dropped one bombshell that Donald Trump never thought he’d hear.

United States Attorney John Durham is still investigating the origins of the Russian collusion hoax.

Obama allies and top ranking FBI officials are on edge because Durham’s investigation is now a criminal probe.

In an interview on Fox News, former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy revealed one piece of evidence Durham is examining is a transcript of an interview with Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos.

The FBI interviewed Papadopoulos after receiving a tip from an Australian diplomat that Papadopoulos told him a Maltese professor named Joseph Mifsud told him the Russians had dirt on Hillary.

Gowdy previously said he had seen this transcript and it proved the FBI knew the Trump campaign was innocent of colluding with the Russians early on in the investigation.

But in this interview Gowdy went into more detail.

“Well, I want you to imagine this hypothetically, Maria. Imagine that you’re accused of a crime and this is your response. ‘Number one, I didn’t do it.’ So, factually that’s pretty important. ‘I didn’t to it. Number two, I would never do that because it is a crime for which you can be put to death and it is a crime against a country that I love.’ If that’s your response to an accusation that you engaged in improper conduct that is textbook exculpatory evidence. You really can’t draw more of a piece of exculpatory evidence than ‘I didn’t do it, I would never do it, it’s a crime to do it.’ So if that happened then the court needed to know about it,” Gowdy responded.

This evidence was also not provided to the FISA court when it obtained warrants to spy on the Trump campaign through Carter Page.

Former FBI Director James Comey signed those warrants that misled the FISA judge.

Since Durham’s investigation is now a criminal probe there is some hope that FBI officials who lied to the FISA court will face accountability.
