Democrats are clinging to claims of collusion despite no evidence being uncovered after more than a year.
They’re hoping to ride a wave from Trump-Russia narrative straight through the 2018 midterm elections.
But Trey Gowdy won’t stand for it and just exposed one Congressman’s true motives.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is the Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee.
And one of the chief proponents of the Trump-Russia fake news narrative.
When asked about the lack of evidence, Gowdy didn’t hold back in why he thinks Schiff is trying to keep the story alive.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Some of my Democratic colleagues, namely Adam Schiff, said he had evidence, more than circumstantial evidence of collusion, before the investigation even began,” Gowdy said in an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo.
Gowdy accused Democrats of prejudging the investigations into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Kremlin, noting that nearly 60 party members have already called for Trump’s impeachment.
“Almost 60 Democrats voted to move forward with impeachment. Already. Before Bob Mueller’s released a single finding. Before the House Intelligence or Senate Intelligence Committees have released a single, solitary finding, almost 60 House Democrats think the president ought to be removed from office,” said Gowdy, a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
“That is infuriating,” Bartiromo chimed in.
“Well, it’s only infuriating if you have high expectations,” Gowdy replied.
“[Congress] is not where serious investigations take place. It is where Senate campaigns in California take place, but it’s not where serious investigations take place,” he added, referring to Schiff, whose name has been floated as a possible replacement to California Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
When Schiff is pressed for evidence, he points to disproven or inconsequential stories reported in the media.
In the full interview (posted below), Gowdy discusses Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, and much, much more.
