Trey Gowdy laid out one 2022 strategy that is devastating news for Democrats

Democrats are trying to hang on to their majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

But they face an uphill climb.

And Trey Gowdy laid out one 2022 strategy that is devastating news for Democrats.

On his Sunday night Fox News program, former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy delivered his analysis of the results of the Virginia elections where Republicans – led by Glenn Youngkin – swept the state-wide elections for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General.

Gowdy explained it was paramount for Republicans to understand why Youngkin and the other Republicans on the ticket were able to flip a state that Joe Biden won by 10 points in 2020, which was by focusing on the issues they ran on.

“To understand elections, we must focus on the why. Why did Republicans win? Why did the state go from Biden to Glenn Youngkin in less than a year? Was it a repudiation on the left, an embrace on the right, or something else?” Gowdy stated.

Youngkin and other Virginia Republicans mobilized angry parents that lost their patience with Democrats after they went along with the teachers union demands to keep schools closed during the pandemic.

When schools were closed, parents who worked from home got an up close and personal view of Critical Race Theory and other toxic left-wing nonsense.

Parents began showing up at school board meetings to protest and Democrats responded by calling them domestic terrorists and racists.

Youngkin promised to ban mask and vaccine mandates as well as Critical Race Theory in schools.

Gowdy said should Republicans around the country look at Virginia and “coalesce around the why and avoid talking about issues that voters care nothing about, there may be more victories next fall.”

Trey Gowdy added that as much of the focus of the primaries next year will be on the candidates Republicans choose to run, but that he believed the issues they focus on are just as important – if not more so.

“Be mindful of the what, be mindful of the who,” he said, “but focus on the why.”

Should Republicans focus on parents’ rights next year, it could prove to be a major wrench in the Left’s plans to hold onto power.
