CNN finally decided leftwing anchor Chris Cuomo’s fate.
The final decision took everyone by surprise.
And Donald Trump grinned from ear-to-ear when he saw this CNN announcement about Chris Cuomo.
CNN suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely after the New York State Attorney General’s office released thousands of pages of documents that showed Chris Cuomo was far more involved in helping his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, respond to allegations of sexual harassment.
According to the documents, Cuomo told investigators that he worked his contacts in the media to gather information and dirt on some of the women who accused his brother of sexual misconduct.
“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” a CNN statement announcing Cuomo’s suspension read. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”
Of course, CNN attempted to give themselves cover by claiming they previously had no knowledge of how deeply Chris Cuomo was involved in trying to help his brother cover up the scandals.
“When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly,” read the CNN statement.
“But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second. However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” CNN concluded.
Donald Trump celebrated CNN yanking Cuomo off the air.
“Great news for television viewers, they have just suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely!” Trump’s statement read. “The big question is, was it because of his horrendous ratings, which in all fairness have permeated CNN and MSDNC, or was it because his brother is no longer Governor? Probably both. In any event, Fredo is gone!”
It is true that both CNN and MSNBC’s ratings tanked following Trump leaving office.
In the month of October, just two CNN programs drew more than one million viewers.
One was a televised town hall with Joe Biden.
The only other show that drew more than one million viewers was top anchor Chris Cuomo’s show.
And now CNN benched the only “star” in their primetime lineup.
As for who will replace Chris Cuomo, right now CNN plans to have Anderson Cooper anchor two hours nightly until a replacement is decided upon.
Many media observers wondered what took CNN so long to sanction Cuomo for undermining whatever little journalistic credibility that the network had left.
