The editorial turn at CNN is emblematic of the larger changes on the American Left.
CNN wants to censor anyone who disagrees with the Democrat Party.
And Tucker Carlson drove CNN insane with one major interview.
Tucker Carlson traveled to Russia to interview President Vladimir Putin.
Two years ago, Putin invaded Ukraine and Carlson argued that the western media was misinforming the American people by lying about the war.
“Their media outlets are corrupt,” Carlson stated. “They lie to their readers and their viewers, and they do that mostly by omission.”
Carlson said media outlets in America only offered the perspective of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“But the interviews he’s already done in the United States are not traditional interviews. They are fawning pep sessions, specifically designed to amplify Zelensky’s demand that the U.S. enter more deeply into a war in Eastern Europe and pay for it,” Carlson added. “That is not journalism. It is government propaganda, propaganda of the ugliest kind, the kind that kills people.”
Joe Biden has already funneled more than $130 billion in taxpayer money to Ukraine.
Biden is now asking Congress for another $61 billion.
Since the American people are funding this war, Carlson said they have a right to know what’s really going on.
“Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they’re implicated in, and we have the right to tell them about it because we are Americans, too,” Carlson continued. “Freedom of speech is our birthright. We were born with the right to say what we believe. That right cannot be taken away no matter who is in the White House. But they’re trying anyway.”
The wailing and gnashing of teeth in the American media was predictable.
CNN’s Oliver Darcy accused Carlson of being a Putin stooge.
“Carlson’s pilgrimage to Moscow is already a major victory for Putin, whose state media has breathlessly hyped the trip in recent days, chronicling Carlson’s every move with images of him seated at a Moscow theater watching a ballet, having lunch at a swanky restaurant, and accessing ‘fast and free Wi-Fi internet,’” Darcy wrote in his Reliable Sources newsletter.
For two years, the media fed Americans a steady diet of misleading coverage about the war while Ukrainian casualty numbers and the lack of progress in the failed counteroffensive were either minimized or outright hidden from the American people.
Joe Biden wants an endless war with Russia over Ukraine.
But should the American taxpayers fund it?
That’s a question Tucker Carlson wants to answer.
