The Left whipped the country up into a frenzy over the killing of George Floyd.
Fake news reporters and Democrats beat into people’s head the idea that police are hunting young black men.
But now Tucker Carlson exposed one truth about police killing unarmed black men.
Tucker Carlson cited pro athletes claiming that police killing young black men at such an alarming rate as to constitute “genocide” as the jumping off point for a viral monologue.
“If you believed we were seeing genocide then you might understand the riots now in progress. There’s nothing worse than genocide. But is it happening? Is any of this true?” Carlson asked his audience.
Carlson then went through the numbers beginning with a Washington Post database of police shootings.
The numbers – Carlson explained – showed that while black suspects were more likely to be armed than white suspects, the police fatally shot more white people than blacks since 2015.
“Since 2015, The Washington Post has maintained a comprehensive database of fatal police shootings in this country,” said Carlson. “Last year, The Post logged 1,004 killings. Of the 802 shootings in which race of the police officer and the suspect was noted, 371 of the those killed were white; 236 were black. The vast majority of those killed were not in fact, ‘unarmed.’ The vast majority were armed, and Africans American suspects were significantly more likely to have a deadly weapon than white suspects. Yet more white suspects were killed.”
Carlson also noted that in 2019 the police killed just ten unarmed black Americans.
Far from being a “genocide,” this was the safest year on record for Americans of all races as the fewest number of unarmed suspects since tracking began.
Carlson noted that in 2019, over 7,000 black Americans were murdered.
The popular Fox News host explained that meant “for every unarmed black person shot to death by police, more than 700 were murdered by someone else – usually someone they know.”
Police need to be held accountable for when they do wrong.
And Carlson noted that in the ten killings of black Americans by police there were four that involved a pursuit or standoff.
Of those four cases criminal charges were brought in two.
Police are not hunting black men. And the criminal justice system is not turning a blind eye to these tragedies.
According to Tucker Carlson the fundamental underpinnings of the riots that are sweeping America are not backed up by the numbers.
