Joe Biden continues to mislead the American people about the debacle in Afghanistan.
Now there is more bad news on the way.
And two military veterans’ surprise trip to Afghanistan just exposed this big Joe Biden lie.
Massachusetts Democrat Congressman Seth Moulton and Michigan Republican Congressman Peter Meijer – who voted to impeach Donald Trump – took a surprise trip to the Kabul Airport to judge the truthfulness of the Biden administration’s claims about running an historic airlift that will achieve America’s goals by the time all U.S. troops leave Afghanistan on August 31.
The administration let it be known to its stenographers in the press that officials were furious with the two members of Congress – who both served in Afghanistan – for supposedly taking up seats on evacuation flights.
But when Moulton and Meijer returned to America it became clear what the administration was really upset about.
The two veterans released a blistering statement blasting the administration for failing at the evacuation and revealing that there was no chance to get all Americans out of Afghanistan by the August 31 deadline.
Moulton and Meijer’s statement read:
We came into this visit wanting, like most veterans, to push the president to extend the August 31st deadline. After talking with commanders on the ground and seeing the situation here, it is obvious that because we started the evacuation so late, that no matter what we do, we won’t get everyone out on time, even by September 11. Sadly and frustratingly, getting our people out depends on maintaining the current, bizarre relationship with the Taliban.
In the coming days, we will have more to share with our colleagues and the American people about what we learned, but after meeting with Marines, soldiers, and dedicated State Department officials on the ground—we want the world to know first and foremost that we have never been prouder to be Americans.
Polls show Joe Biden’s approval numbers dropping due to the public turning on him over Afghanistan and his announcement that America would cave to the Taliban’s demand to have all American forces out by August 31.
Taliban spokesmen threatened severe consequences – likely in the form of attacks at the airport – if troops remained in Afghanistan after August 31. Terror attacks were locked in the moment Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal began.
The Biden administration hoped to change the narrative surrounding the evacuation by pushing the notion that this was an historic airlift.
But Meijer and Moulton’s trip shredded that lie and the news out of Afghanistan is only getting worse for Joe Biden.
