Little Dalilah Coleman can't walk without help, can't eat without a tube, and missed kindergarten because an illegal immigrant behind the wheel of an 80,000-pound truck slammed into her family's car at 60 miles an hour.
She sat in the gallery at Trump's State of the Union just eight days ago – and the entire country saw her father hold her up while the president called her name.
But a Democrat tried to use her hearing as a platform to talk about Iran and Jeffrey Epstein.
Shri Thanedar's Opening Statement at the Dalilah Law Hearing
Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan – the same lawmaker who drafted seven articles of impeachment against Trump that his own party called "the dumbest f***ing thing" – walked into the House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing on illegal immigrant CDLs and immediately tried to blow it up.
Before a single witness could speak, Thanedar interrupted with a parliamentary challenge, arguing the committee had no jurisdiction over commercial trucking safety.
Then came his opening statement.

"This past weekend a convicted felon with bone spurs illegally attacked Iran, launching a protracted war of regime change," Thanedar said – at a hearing called to examine why illegal immigrants are getting commercial driver's licenses and killing Americans on the highway.
He also brought up Jeffrey Epstein.
He was the only Democrat who showed up.
What ICE and Oklahoma Told Congress About Illegal Immigrant Truck Drivers
Chairman Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma shut Thanedar down and got to the evidence.
Oklahoma Department of Public Safety Commissioner Tim Tipton testified that after his state credentialed local officers through ICE to enforce immigration law in 2025, highway patrol took more than 450 commercial truck drivers into custody for immigration violations.
"Almost 50% of OHP encounters with commercial truck operators have resulted in arrests for immigration violations," Tipton said.
He called for Congress to shut down the CDL mills certifying drivers who can't read English or understand the rules of the road.
"When people like Dalilah are struck by an illegal immigrant operating a motor vehicle, it isn't an accident," Tipton said. "That is people intentionally getting in a vehicle who don't understand how to operate it. It's dangerous. It's avoidable."

St. Lucie County Sheriff Richard del Toro testified about a case on Florida's Turnpike where an illegal immigrant from India with a California CDL killed three people after attempting an illegal U-turn through an "official use only" access point – blocking every lane of the highway with his semi.
Brecheen flagged something else: a driver arrested in his home state of Oklahoma was carrying a New York driver's license with a REAL ID endorsement and the name "No Name Given."
Anyone authorized to haul hazardous materials, Brecheen noted, could effectively be driving an 80,000-pound chemical bomb.
The Illegal Immigrant CDL Crash Pattern Democrats Won't Acknowledge
The Oklahoma operation wasn't a one-off.
In Indiana last February, Bekzhan Beishekeev – an illegal immigrant from Kyrgyzstan who entered the United States on the Biden-era CBP One app and was issued a CDL by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro – failed to brake on State Route 67 and plowed head-on into a van of Amish passengers.
Four people died: Henry Eicher, 50. Menno Eicher, 25. Paul Eicher, 19. Simon Girod, 23.
In California, ICE's Operation Highway Sentinel arrested more than 100 illegal alien truck drivers following multiple fatal crashes.
Similar sweeps in Indiana, New York, and Oklahoma netted over 200 arrests combined.
In Tennessee, an illegal immigrant from China who couldn't speak English – and later failed the English proficiency test – caused a deadly multi-vehicle crash while distracted by a video on his phone.
The Biden administration had released him into the country, given him work authorization papers, a Social Security card, and the paperwork he needed to get a commercial driver's license.
Democrats Are Fighting for the Truck That Hit Dalilah
Trump called for the Dalilah Law at the State of the Union eight days ago.

This week, Rep. Erin Houchin and Sen. Jim Banks of Indiana introduced the legislation. Rep. Andy Barr of Kentucky introduced a companion bill. Heritage Action threw its weight behind it.
The law would prohibit CDL issuance to anyone not a citizen, lawful permanent resident, or holder of a qualifying work visa – and mandate English-only testing nationwide.
While Republicans moved to protect American families from trucks driven by people who can't read a stop sign, Democrats sent their one representative to that hearing to talk about bone spurs and private jets.
Brecheen put it plainly after the hearing: "It's incredible that they're fighting for illegals, and all the harm that they cause. You got to wonder – who are they really representing?"
Dalilah Coleman is seven years old and relearning how to walk.
