An AOC-Linked Millionaire Launched His Campaign for Pelosi’s Seat and This Is What He Did First

AOC's Green New Deal architect admitted on camera the whole thing was never about climate – it was about seizing control of the entire economy.

Now he wants a seat in Congress.

And the first thing he did was get a drag queen to endorse him.

AOC Chief of Staff Saikat Chakrabarti Launches Bid for Pelosi's Seat With Drag Queen Endorsement

Saikat Chakrabarti – the Silicon Valley millionaire who masterminded AOC's rise and wrote the Green New Deal – launched his bid for California's 11th Congressional District this week with a video endorsement from a drag queen named Peaches Christ.

The two announced plans for an April 4 "Drag Me to Vote" event in San Francisco.

San Francisco has a housing crisis so bad that longtime residents are fleeing.

It has a homelessness disaster playing out on its streets every single day.

Grocery stores are closing because shoplifters walk out with anything they want.

Chakrabarti's answer is a drag queen campaign kickoff.

Even progressive San Franciscans weren't impressed.

One commenter fired back online: "Dude what is this? Just focus on affordability please."

Another went further: "The guy has zero track record in San Francisco. Bad choice, Peaches."

His opponent, State Senator Scott Wiener, didn't mince words: "My opponent is using his vast personal wealth to try to buy a seat in Congress. I'm not worth hundreds of millions like he is, but what I do have is decades of real experience delivering for San Francisco."

Green New Deal Architect Faced Federal Campaign Finance Investigation Before Sudden Resignation

Here's what the campaign rollout conveniently omits.

Chakrabarti – who holds at least $50 million in Stripe equity – suddenly resigned from AOC's office in August 2019 the same week federal investigators launched a probe into two PACs he founded: Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats.

The complaint alleged those PACs funneled more than $885,000 into private companies he controlled – companies that weren't required to fully disclose their spending.

The National Legal and Policy Center called it "the most blatant scheme we have seen to avoid transparency and accountability concerning campaign finance laws."

The case was eventually dismissed. No charges were filed.

But the pattern is the pattern: big money, murky structures, and a sudden exit when the scrutiny arrives.

He's also financing his congressional run almost entirely himself.

Of the $1.8 million his campaign reported through the end of 2025, $1.5 million came from his own bank account.

Most of his outside donations came from people outside California.

Wiener's campaign called it what it is: "a borderline billionaire carpet-bagger with an entirely astroturf campaign."

San Francisco Deserves Better Than This

Chakrabarti told a debate audience in January that inequality is something "we don't talk about enough."

In San Francisco.

A city where the median home price is north of $1 million.

Where protesters have blocked Google buses in the streets.

Where the homeless crisis became a national punchline.

He doesn't know this city.

Chakrabarti himself acknowledged his primary residence was near Washington, D.C. – not San Francisco.

This is the same man who said the Green New Deal "wasn't originally a climate thing at all" – it was about changing "the entire economy."

He wasn't hiding the ball. He was telling you exactly who he is.

And now he wants to do it from Nancy Pelosi's chair.

San Francisco has a real race this June.

State Senator Wiener has spent decades delivering for the city.

Supervisor Connie Chan is backed by Adam Schiff and has deep community roots.

Both of them actually live there.

Chakrabarti has a drag queen, $50 million in Stripe equity, and a track record of showing up in other people's cities to remake them according to his politics – then leaving when things get complicated.
